Head unit replacement queries!

Featured Replies

Hi I've just bought a 2001 Fabia Classic, which obviously only has a cassette player in it... I'm not a big fan of aftermarket stereos due purely to aesthetics so would like to replace with a skoda head unit with a CD player, and I was wondering if anyone knew which ones should be a fairly easy switch? Would it be straightforward to put a symphony in?

Thanks!

I just got one out of a vrs for £30 posted on ebay, went straight in and obviously looks original :)

Perfect! You didn't have to alter the wiring at all..? I'm assuming one of of an 04 Fabia would for okay then..?

Also, anyone know if the equivalent aged Polo one would fit in?

Thanks!

Best option would be sympathetic aftermarket. That used to mean Becker but they've imploded.

For CD Tuner, search eBay etc for Skoda Symphony and Fabia. They usually go for £60-£80 with code... Or rather less if they're b*ggered or no code.

Seriously, though, aftermarket offers much more for your cash these days.
