At last! A complaint............

Featured Replies

Parked my pride and joy in the heavy rain recently, unavoidably.

When I returned I was pleased to see that all the rain was pooled up in big rain drops on the roof, presumably because of the life shine waxing.

However, when I got into my LEVEL car and sat down it immediately dumped about a cup of water all over me nads as it tilted right.

So in future I must either park on a slight camber or swish the rain off the roof BEFORE entering.

Skoda boffins please note.........................

Rant over, back to happy mode.

Skoda will tell you to change which side you dress.... :giggle:

I park my car on the kerb outside the house (as the roads to narrow to park purely on the road) which means that the drivers side is already low. So when i sit down in the car, i get even more water! haha

Well that's good if your in a hurry for work and you know you can get a shower on the way i guess, just need a built in shampoo dispenser

That's why you should have gone for a sunroof! Just tilt it before getting in!

lol

One morning it did catch me out and go down the back of my shirt. Not nice on a particularly cold morning! but atleast it woke me up!

Is this getting in the car or driving with the window open?

Getting in................

Ok thanks. I haven't experienced this yet. Haven't been out in the rain.

I get it just as i get to the parking exit barrier at work. open the window and splosh all off the roof and inside the car???

Did experience rain coming in tonight whilst driving along. My Octavia suffered from this and a set of Heko wind deflectors cured that. Will buy a pair for the Citigo now :)

The OP is clearly unaware of the presence of Skoda's automatic built in "driver-wash-and-rinse system" on his car. Features like this make Skoda way ahead of other members of the VAG group, and shouldn't be moaned about! :)

Next time it rains I will get my shower gel out and put my speedo's on ??????

Or is this a recycling scheme for saving water for later?

I wonder... given the $$$ spent on research / design if the boffins don't just do this for a giggle.

Every VAG Skoda model has a stupidly obvious water ingress when opening design. PRE VAG, well thats another story; quit complaining you've got a car.

The Mk1 Octavia was a devil for the boot opening dumping a lake into the boot, the superb with it's clever boot does the same, except in a more superlative way.

Well it's all fun, good to read about the deflectors helping though...

Love the driver wash and rinse system ,though if this is in use often swmbo will be sending to doctors to get some rubber pants to be worn superman style.

I knew about the built in driver shower feature, that's why there is a bottle of shower gel given free in the boot with each delivery.

Can't get much of a lather going with mine though it does leave my skin "oily" smooth !!!

I'm using the blue shower gel I got with the first service rather than the stuff in the gold bottle....am I doing it wrong?

It's rather thin though - but smells better..

I find the stuff in the gold bottle difficult to get a lather and even more difficult to rinse away, but at about £40 for 4 litres it is not bad value, and you need to make sure you get the correct long life VW spec if you go more than 12 months between taking showers. Perhaps I'll try the blue stuff when the gold stuff runs out.

I hope you lads are using the built in Seat heaters to dry out? Would not want nappy rash/piles from sitting on a cold and wet seat?

A lot of us have sports and don't have seat heaters, hence the nappy rash lol.

That's why I went for the faster more sophisticated Elegance instead of roughing it in a sport?  :giggle:
