Into my second week of ownership now and well impressed with the car :)

Not got massive plans for it,as its had more than enough spent on it by the previous owner upgrading parts ;)

90k on the clock, previous owner maintained it to a very high standard, full dealer history with cambelt change last month.Used reputable tuning companies to do the uprated/modified parts too B)

MD374 Hybrid,Peloquin LSD,Forge front mount,SMF,Miltek turbo back exhaust,PD160 intake,Pipercross filter,Whiteline rear ARB,KW1 coilovers,312mm front brakes.

But it did need some tlc in the cleaning department when I got it,seats were quite grubby, under arches/underside had never been properly cleaned by the looks of it,neither had engine/under bonnet area.I have never seen a car with so many tar spots either, took a good couple of hours to remove them.

Fitted mudflaps and colour coded door handles.

So cracked on and cleaned it up......

Seats were wet vacuumed and came up very well thankfully:

Managed to claybar and polish today, very pleased with the outcome tbh.
Will get it machine polished after the winter.

Planning to have both bumpers painted in the spring, due to a few minor scuffs/paint lifting in the join of lower skirt etc.

Love it how it still maintains the standard look. I've owned my vrs for 6 weeks and I think it's absolutely brilliant. I think they shift well as standard so can imagine this is rather lively!

Done a couple more jobs to make this my own, steel pressed number plates, pics when its not raining!

Also fitted a Audi A1 Sport interior, loving that and well pleased with the result:

Fitted a oil separator too from the group buy on here,as don't like the Elephant bodge! ;)

Only downside is lack of space under the bonnet,so will have to run without the top engine cover :)

Where do you work? :)

The Fabia has got almost twice the torque of the Rallye, and 30bhp more. But I wouldn't say there is much between them on the road,if you know how to drive the Pug as peak power is at 6200rpm!

The Fabia is nowhere near as good handling wise compared to the Rallye, even with the Whiteline rear ARB,strut braces and KW Coilovers.

But,the Fabia is a nicer daily driver, and even though more powerful is still returning double the MPG of the Rallye on my daily commute!!! B)

Plus the Fabia has aircon and no dash rattles!!!!!

I Work in the college.

i know what you mean about the handling! unfortunately, mine is on springs (fabia) and well too low so comparing them is a bit unfair (my 106 rallye).

but it is a much nicer place to be and has air con that works (i used to have a 306 hdi that had 'aircon') as the 106 is a track car but the satchshift makes up for that hehe

Noticed when cleaning drivers side arch the boost pipe had been rubbing on the driveshaft,so while I had the bumper off I thought I would sort it ;)

The boost hose behind headlight was also very tightly pressed onto rear of light which I did not like.

All the hoseclips were loose and had a lot of black sludge stuff around them,so cleaned all front end off and loosened all hose clips to re-align pipework correctly, took all of 5 mins to get it all sitting nicely not touching anything :)

Was obviously too much trouble for JBS to spend abit of time doing this when they fitted it :bandit:

While doing this I noticed the Forge cooler has no mounts on the bottom at all,it just hangs off the two top ones.

As a result of this design fault  the outlet on the drivers side of cooler has been pressed against the alloy end tank of the aircon rad, with the slight movement of the cooler it has worn through aprox 3/4 of the thickness of the tank! :@

Put a bracket on the crash bar to pull the cooler forward and cable tied some foam to the cooler incase it moves back again.

Fitted my 42 DRAFT / VERDICT shifter bushes today, great little mod that makes the gearshift really precise and tight B)

The car looks alot different now too, will get pics when its washed and not raining ;)

E-mailed Forge about the problem with the intercooler touching the end tank of aircon rad, they are discontinuing the cooler soon so are not going to alter the design.

They are now selling a Seat Sport style cooler, but have not fitted one yet to a Fabia. So they offered me a very good price on the new cooler fitted if I take the car to them so they can then sell it on as a Fabia fitment.

Pics next week of it fitted all being well :)

How difficult are the 42-draft-verdict bushes to fit?

I only ask as I'm registered disabled with a degenerative lower spine condition, so bending over for any period is impossible.

I guess they come with fitting instructions?

Pretty easy to fit.but they are quite low down in the engine bay so you do need to reach down a fair way.

The airbox needs to be removed to gain enough space to work.

I couldn't work out how you lock the gear selector shaft on the gearbox into the neutral position, so just put the car in neutral using the gearstick then was careful I didn't move it with the cables disconnnected. :)

Those cable ties on the intercooler pipework.... Turbo size (before intercooler) will melt! Or probably have already! Pre intercooler it gets very hot indeed

Due to my useless spine, that sounds like it will have to be a job for my brother in law....
