Not sure yet, but 630bhp to the rear wheels can be quite a lot of fun.

It only brings the front wheels into play in certain situations anyway.

Might be a sensor or wiring problem.

Sounds like an awesome trip would love to do something similar one day! But the question i want to know the answer to is do you think you would of had a better trip in a R35 with more comforts or does the more fun side of the R32 over power the want for the creature comforts??

It was a truly epic road trip. Thanks Richard for inviting me. It was simply amazing.

I don't think we would have had and more fun in an R35 Adam. The car remained comfortable for the entire journey and has digital climate control. Only thing missing was cruise control, but not needed at all.

The turn in was much better than the r35 on all of the twisty passes.

Overall a fantastic car

As Charlie has mentioned, the R32 was amazing on the mountain twisties.

The R35s couldn't provoke any form of oversteer, we were able to "play" with the grip limits (no ABS, traction control or stability control) and come out of harpins with tyre squeal or a bit sideways which was a lot of fun.

We also noticed how much we caught the R35s up on the hairpins as they are big heavy cars that need to drop a lot of speed, get the car round and then power off.

 

Many of the R35s were running about 600-650bhp and we are running similar power so didn't have any problems with struggling to keep up under acceleration either.

While we didn't have the flappy paddle gearbox we did have about 350kg less, which seems to make up for it.

 

On a Euro Road trip the R35 is probably a safer choice overall.

It's newer, likely to be more reliable, can cruise at a higher (illegal) speed for longer and feels more planted.  Plus easier to get any parts for.

 

But both Charlie and myself found the R32 seats and Meister R coilovers very good with no aches or pains despite being in the car for seven hours or so on a couple of days.

The seats in particular are very good and it's surprising how long you can drive in them with no issues considering they are the original ones and now 23 years old.

 

Overall I am glad I took the R32.  Now I am home and it made it, I was a little nervous before leaving.

It really was amazing on the twisty bits.

 

Despite being designed in the late 1980s it does indeed have digital climate control.

And it works quite well considering it was trying to deal with excessive outside temperatures.

Not saying it works as well as a modern R35 system, but it did a pretty good job.

 

It's such an epic road trip though I think it would still be a lot of fun in any car.

Well a prelim discussion was had today about a Brisky trip to the Skoda museum in Czech land...... would be a lot of fun too. Have to give it a bit of thought and planning but sounds to be a fun trip.

With a bit of planning it wouldn't be that tricky to visit some Alpine passes and tunnels, do the Skoda Museum and then come back past the Nurburgring.

No,  it's a fairly heavilly modded M spec with a Z tune front bumper and V spec II carbon bonnet.

The R32s I think are going to start going up in price soon.

Nice cars that were £12k last year are now £14k and once they are 25 years old and can be sent to America they seem to add another £4k onto the price if good clean ones.

A lot of 80s and 90s cars are getting a bit expensive now.

Yeah it's a sure sign the economy is recovering. Been thinking of buying a classic car as an investment as well as a toy. Maybe next summer.

Brake lights I had a look at and it was a loose plug on the switch.  The fitting is secure if on there correctly.

Guess it's not been clipped on for ages and all the sideways action in the Alps knocked it off...

 

Loss of front wheel drive is due to a fluid leak above the rear diff where the pump is.

The car is rear drive, but a hydraulic pump sends power to the front when needed.

Fluid leak (looks like a pipe fitting) means level got low and pump shut down.

 

Going to get RK Tuning to check the pipes when it goes in next.

Waiting on a HKS Cat and Mines titanium downpipe to match the exhaust.

Seems an easy fix then. Didn't notice any drips of fluid whilst the car was parked up at all.

The HKS one will allegedly run around 800-850bhp so there should be minimal restrictions.

So today was the day when I got to drive the R34 M-Spec for the first time.

 

I tried not to overhype it because the info suggested to me that it wouldn't be as nice to drive on the road as my R32.
Mainly due to having more power, almost 850bhp of it, and so all the downsides of that like increased lag, hard ride, stiff clutch etc...

It is an impressive machine.

Road presence that makes the R32 look very subtle.
But while there was more lag, it was surprisingly nice to drive on the road.
Slick gearshift, almost stock feeling clutch.  Felt like driving a one or two year old car, everything well matched and performing well to make road driving a doddle.

 

As Skylines go I can't help feeling it's pretty close to what I hoped it would be and a long way from what I was worried it would be.

Sure the exhaust is a bit too noisy for my liking, but that can be fixed with a Mines Silence Pro like I have on the R32.  The full titanium Tomei system will generate a reasonable amount to pay for that.
But other than that it's spot on for it's power level.

 

It really is a special car and F1Prestige have done an amazing job finding it and bringing it to the UK.

 

Everything is done to such a high standard, yet it looks almost stock and doesn't have bolt on bits and bobs all over the interior.

Just what I would do.  Enhanced, but not overly modified to look at... like my R32.

 

It's a cracking bit of kit.

 

 

 

Of all the cars you have had and currently still have, this is the one that makes me jealous.

Such an awesome car as standard, let alone with the mods that have been done.
