Richard's GT-R thread, old and new!

Not including Danny's hair care product and fuel stops it was definitely a good day.

Your just jealous that I can use hair products...

But fuel stops were quite amusing, the amount of people commenting on the car was great.

  • A few pics of the deeper red colour when the sun is down, brothers in arms.

  • Right.   I gave myself a good talking to and popped out for a little bonding with the new car.   Holy moley it's even more bonkers than I remember the last ones being. Yes, they have worked a lot

Glad you're swapping the gold wheels. A bit too much!

On a Manchester plate I see - wonder who did the original importing?

It was imported by Torque GT in Devon 3 months ago.

I think the plate is a random coincidence as it's an older style plate now.

Yeah, maybe. On the old plate format, BA was Manchester.

Now that is a result! Quite surprised it has coilovers because it's still got quite a bit of arch gap (for a car on coilovers). But the ride quality is spot on. It did sound very fruity in the tunnel on the M25 on the way to you. The windows were down to hear it of course!

Such a lovely car! What are they going to be used for? Sorry if you've answered this already :)

Pottering around, looking at and waiting for the values to go up.

Pottering around?! You??! LOL. Then again maybe..... a little sideways pottering probably. :D

one of the sexiest cars on earth

Pottering around, looking at and waiting for the values to go up.

but won't you offset what you would make in increasing values by tuning the hell out of it? Will look nice in the garage though lol

You do realise that you are bidding against yourself??..................... :D

The same reason the values on FG Fabias suddenly went up................... :p

Finally got round to ordering the Z-tune front bumper, Nismo sills, spats and GT rims for the M-spec R34.

Gave the bonnet a miss, mainly because it's £3,000 and I don't need it.  It won't add much to the value of the car.

Also put a deposit on this:

R34 Bayside Blue (the popular colour) GT-R with a few Nismo bits.

Z-tune front bumper, sills and spats, clock, exhaust and "sports resetting" Nismo map.

So should be 400bhp exactly like the M-spec as that has the same map and exhaust.

The sharp eyed people will notice some funky taller carbon rear wing lifters too.

Here starts another 8-10 week wait as it's shipped and registered...

Seems to be missing the trimmable element from the rear wing?

Well spotted Ken. :)

I just checked and it's the angle of the picture.

This rear shot with the "rare" carbon wing liters shows it's there.

Just looking at the stickers on the back of it, typical .................I take it those will be removed, or the actual place visited with the car for it's first time.

Liters?.............lifters I take it?..............

Also the more I see them I have always thought that when designers try to do big bumper/skirt/wing ad-on kits they really need to look harder at these, never has a car looked so hard without looking stupid OTT

Some people like them.

Not you obviously though.

Not disrespect intended Boss, just that the N'ring sticker I see on various chav mobiles up here so it's "legitimacy "is ruined as these idiots fit it because it "looks cool init bro"., also as that's an import I doubt it has been to the N'ring, which I why I mentioned taking it there.

As for the "Sports Resetting" sticker, again typical of various Jap tuning brands to come up with weird strung together, "lost in translation" brand names, just look weird IMHO.

Look at it this way, you know when you see those big parades of various tin pot armies & they coat their dress uniforms with loads of badges, medals, etc?......................You can't take them seriously because you know some are for "basket weaving" to quote a film.

Now imagine a member of the SAS, SBS, or RMC dressed in basic fatigues & just wearing their beret with cap badge, no other badges, ranks  etc. You know that is respect & "hard", nuff said, well that's the Skyline/GTR!

The only way to make the SAS/SBS/RMC look harder is to stick a VC in them,.......on the Skyline/GTR stick a Nismo badge on it..............no need to add fripperies, a good thing can be "over egged".

Just my honest opinion, not trying to dis you or the car, as I have always liked them since they first came over here, purely because for such a "lowly" brand they p155 all over the establishment, & showed the world what could be done when more thought was applied! I remember when Mines did their first 1000bhp car.............mental, but gold coloured, or was that the Top Secret one?

Lovely looking, stickers and all Richard, is it the same blue as the last of the UK cars?

I think so.

It's Bayside Blue, the colour everyone seems to go nuts over.

It's the best colour for this car, it really sets it off.

It just reminds me of being a nipper, playing the Gran Turismo games.

Booked in for a hub dyno session Monday to get a true before figure. :)

No estimates or guesswork that way.
