That's where I tip my hat to Richard. He could have gone all out and had this slammed on its backside with a couple of large exhausts but he's taken it the complete opposite - look at the blue one in the photo, not saying it's a bad thing at all, it's nice to be different though. He's commissioned it to be as discreet (as a GTR can be) as possible. From the outside, you'd look at it and think lovely motor, you then open the bonnet and then realise the amount of work that has gone in to it.

Yes, it's supposed to land in the UK port on the 23rd June, so not long.

Still needs to be inspected, registered etc... so mid July I suspect.

It's going to have to be good to compare to the R32, otherwise it probably won't be with me for a long time.

GolfRs do think their cars accelerate quickly, yes.

There is something just so 'right' about and R32 on BBS LM's. Also, that's my favorite colour for that modle.

GTROC Euro Tour 2015.

 

Godzilla is home safe and sound. Day 8.

Both myself and Charlie (Dark Hero) safely home too.

 

As temps hit +36-39 after day 5 we had some heat soak issues after a blast followed by moving slowly with little fresh air to cool it.
On day six we lost front wheel drive and on day seven we lost the brake lights.

 

But overall an amazing trip, clocking up 2,260 miles door to door in a 23 year old car.
No oil needed, no coolant needed, the car performed well other than a few teething issues.

Very good considering the abuse it got, many sideways moments out of hairpins in the Alpine passes and a big unexpected sideways moment in one of the tunnels, much screetching rubber could be heard... fair amount of opposite lock applied.
Great scenery, great cars, great people.
