  • Don't buy them for your car then . Personally I thought there wasn't enough wheel on the 18's and ruined the look of the car. So that's why I opted for them and you haven't

Makes you wonder why a Skoda dealer is selling them off on ebay, maybe take-up hasn't gone as well as expected?

that skoda dealer sells everything on ebay (including the kitchen sink) so no surprise really

Maybe so, but I doubt they'd want to have the hassle of advertising, sale costs, packaging etc etc if they were flying out of the showroom

I cant imagine option 19" wheels would fly out anyway?  its pickup only so an easy sell for them if they get bought.

I'd say its more likely they are trying to get rid of their salesroom stock before they go to factory option this/next month when (in theory) they should be cheaper.

Thats the dealer where i bought mine.

I paid £800 for mine so wouldn't really say they are selling them off at £850.

I agree with the spacer comment. The fronts look fine but there is something a bit weird about the rear look. A set of 15mm would push them out without fouling the arches for a 'fuller' look. Nice wheels though, a bit over complicated, but still a different look.

Can I buy these wheels as an option on my VRS? I've only recently placed my order but I'm guessing I should be able to add them?

Any idea what the option cost is?

The 19' are looking great there Rob. Fine choice. I'm pretty sure I'd never notice the difference in ride with either, and like you I do like a firm set up anyway. Anything soft feels wrong to me.

Bit expensive for me at the moment, but certainly going to keep my eyes open. I like the 18s anyway, they're a really good standard wheel I think.

Its definatly a very good look for your car rob. Looks awesome in person. Makes my blackline look very dated. Haha.

Iv now done around 100mile on these wheels, there is a very small difference in ride. Im presuming simply due to the lower profile tyre. But the car rides so well over bumps, firm but smooth at the same time, my mk2 would crash and all plastics rattle over bumps (maybe a little extreme) but the mk3 glides over them, you obviously notice bumps but not in the same way, hard to describe really.

Im very pleased with the Xtreme wheels and to anyone who likes them think they are well worth the money :).

I bet you darent let me drive it haha. I know the blacklines nice. Specialy in race blue, such a shame they let none vrs's have the color in the mrk3 but hay things do change with cars I understand why skoda.did it as its such a popular color choice.

Back to topic. Youll soon not even notice a difrence at all untill you step back in a mrk 2 haha.

There is a PR Code on etka for 19" wheels.

C6Q Aluminium Disc 7.5x19 ET51.

I don't know if that is the same wheel as Robfabs.

Sounds about right, size wize

Did you use 225 or 235mm tyres rob? Anyone got any idea what the manufacturers recommended is?

Skoda recommend 225/35/19 which is what i went for,

These are growing on me. At first I thought they looked large, but actually it makes the Octavia look like a hot hatch (i.e. smaller!)

I must agree with you, when i went to the petrol station i did look at the car and thought it looked quite small and sleek if you know what i mean, i don't normally like this type of wheels but really think they look ace and suit it down to a T

Again, only an opinion (hence why there are 'options' that people can choose) I think 18" is the optimum size. The 19's are just a little big for my taste. Glad you are happy with them though, enjoy! :D

Yes down to opinion, and my opinion that there is way too much tyre on the 18's which makes them look too small suppose can be solved with lower profile tyres but the 19's make it look a bit more special

I think they look great. When people say they look too big for the car I don't understand that... Take a look at astra gtc's, now they have big wheels with bloated tyres that look too big for the car.

Mine are arriving Monday. Take delivery of my hatch the following Monday afternoon. Wheels being fitted on the Tuesday morning. Pictures to follow

  • 2 weeks later...

They look spot on mate, get some more photos up!! Must think about getting some ordered for the Super B. :P
