  • Your blackline still looks great though matt. Iv now done around 100mile on these wheels, there is a very small difference in ride. Im presuming simply due to the lower profile tyre. But the car ride

  • Don't buy them for your car then . Personally I thought there wasn't enough wheel on the 18's and ruined the look of the car. So that's why I opted for them and you haven't

You realise that you've now blown the illusion that robfab's car was the first to have them fitted  :)

Already spotted this car on pistonheads the other week so go back in to your little children's hole :)

Its obvious this thread isn't intended for you, people have asked me my thoughts on them once fitted hence the thread, i was asked to place photos up. There is plenty of others out there with these wheels

OP - very nice car, like it a lot.

Looks very nice.

Not sure I could live with the tyre cost and constant pot hole worry myself

Yes very understandable. 50% dearer for if you like less tyre. Iv built it in to my budget and £4 per month to one side for the extra i can cope with, suppose I'm lucky around here that pot holes are not overly common and will take care in areas i don't know, but again i wouldn't say my driving style will change as i was the same in my mk2

I came very close to buying a vauxhall cascada with 19" wheels until I checked tyre prices. Nearly £1000 for a set of four fitted. F*** that!

Iv gone for contisportcontact 225/35/19 and fitted all in is £660 fitted

Looks better in daylight.

Rob, lovely motor, very jealous.

But, sorry to say, prefer the original wheels.

IMO of course.

Enjoy your new car!

Dunc.

I think the Vauxhall had 235, and they were quite a bit more.

Everyone has there own opinion :) its just how they put it across that annoys me :) so thank you for the grown up way of saying.

I will do.

Rob

I'll "sit on the fence" and say I'm not really sure whether I like them or not. I think I'd have to see them for real to be certain whether I like them or really do not like them, a picture doesn't show every facet of them.

Yeah i know what your saying they are probably a marmite wheel. Personally think they are a feature compared to the wheels that came on car. But thats me haha.

Eh?

My dealer quoted me £2k for the 19" XTreme's and that didn't include fitting?!

Naturally, I declined.

Thanks for posting them up. I really like them. IMHO they look much better than the standard wheels, however I've ordered the Gemini Anthracites and will probably stick with them for now!

Great post!!! :-)

Ooooooo, bet its worth it though isnt it haha

Yeah definately :)

Did it not come with wheels when you bought it? :)

Yeah came with them when I bought it :)

Pretty sure you can get an almost identical wheel in 18" on the Golf for anyone wincing at 19".

The tyres were £660 all in and the wheels £800 so a total of £1460 fitted. Shop around

looks great in the day Rob and they suit it really well.  I think theyd look better on my race blue though so feel free to drop them around anytime ;)

Haha cheers mate, they would suit yours :)

That looks good! Congrats :)

I read that the ET is 51 mm for the Extremes. Do you think spacers would make the wheels more aligned with the car body?

Would 15 mm be to much or will the wheels still fit in the wheel housing (i.e. how much space is left)?

And does anyone know if the ET-number differs between regular Octy and the vRS?

  • Author

I did look earlier and notice the wheels could set out slightly more, it's not something I will be doing however ids ya yes 10-15mm could be done
