Not so good about the windscreen! How much does faboka charge for maps like this? My setup is similar to yours but mine being the pd150, waiting for xmans 1749vc turbo to arrive and then have got an s3 intercooler (replacing leaky oem intercooler) to fit and mapping.

Only thing I'm concerned about is getting the actuator length right, I see you mentioned it took a few goes above, did you lengthen it or shorten it?

What's the spool like on the new turbo and are you still getting good mpg?

Cheers,

S10EAT

He charges £75 I think. Google hidden-power.co.uk I think it is :)

Is the S3 cooler big?

Altering the length is really easy mate, just got to make your own spanner as a normal one is too long and hits the bulk head. I had to shorten mine but then had to re-adjust it the other day to make it longer as my car decided to change itself?! haha its a weird vehicle.

MPG is still great. I have the hefty airtech intercooler so it's pretty big and I don't notice much lag at all really, but I can't really remember what it was like before! But I just know it feels really good!

Thanks so much man, appreciate it

Dan,

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Yeah the s3 intercooler is about 1/2 inch thicker than the standard pd150 intercooler, main reason for replacement is getting rid of the last of the stupidest vag invention, those damn clip connectors!!!

I was tempted by the airtec intercooler but already have the sfs kit so would not be using all of what I pay for the kit.

My turbo has been making the common "police siren" noise for the past six months so really needs replacing ASAP, plus my avg mpg at the moment is about 35-40 which is shocking!

I hope the mapping goes well and good luck with the ongoing build!

Thanks,

S10EAT

Looks nasty on the windscreen that! What was it?

It was the cowling circled here mate.

Dan,

How's the mapping coming along for your new turbo? Any progress?

Thanks,

Not really mate. Its still working perfectly but can't get it spot on just yet as it's giving some unknown issue.

Can't focus all of my time on it too which is annoying as i've got a horrible assignment due in at Uni :(

When it does go though, it feels absolutely unstoppable, literally being thrown back into your seat and hold on for dear life style. Think it's something to do with the stop screw adjustment and the length of the actuator rod that needs sorting properly though.

Last night had me at 11pm on a straight stretch of road adjusting the turbo actuator in the freezing cold with just a small torch and some mole grips. If someone pulled up and offered help they'd have been like wtf are you doing haha

Dan,

How's the hybrid turbo going?

Got it working ok now?

Thanks,

Heya mate. All was well with it dude, really really enjoyed it however my friend offered to buy my car the other day and I had my eyes on something else so sadly the car is with him now. Awesome that my friend has it though rather than some randomer from eBay so I can help him with any problems and see what he gets up to with it.

This is the new steed! Picked it up today.

It's a 182 matey. Only really experience mainly motorway for the joruney home but one of the back roads I let her rip and omg the smile on my face - I couldn't get rid of it, it's the noise of it too when the variable cams kick in. Can't wait to tinker :D

I do like them! Would quite happily have a 182 keep a thread going about what you're doing as I'll be following with interest!

How does it compare in power to your ibiza with the hybrid? I had one of these behind me on track could only just pull on it on the straights.

It's definitely nowhere near as torquey as you can imagine, but as soon as you hit 4k ish onwards it's an absolute monster. More of a holy **** look at how fast i'm actually going feeling as it just happens way faster than you can imagine, rather than the torque being delivered by that seat in your back feeling. So hard to explain, too tired from driving today haha.

Saying that though it does throw you back in your seat.

Excellent choice :) looks the same as Nicci's but cleaner lol.

They are great will motors. Not as fast as today's hatchs but certainly puts a smile on your face. :)

You inspired me when I was asking about them on the email!

Also I'd just like to say thank you so so much with all your help with the mapping, as said throughout you're an absolute legend.
