I would say the Android Auto head unit is the biggest improvement.

The one in the car is awesome, 10 years ago... Especially if you tour in this beast.

I purchased a android head unit off Facebook, I seen it working in the gentleman’s Passat, fitted it in my car there’s no sound, I’ve read posts on here to leave the car battery off for a hour, I done that still no sound, I did make a post asking for advice never really got much response…

I got mine new from audio tech direct (PBA A85PRO-28V).

Reason is the connectors are proprietary, and you get warranty if it doesn't work.

It's gonna be hard to test your unit without another car 😞

Just an fyi when I fitted mine it didn't need any adjustments to get sound if you play Bluetooth or something direct from the unit.

It only had a separate connector for GPS (ATD FAK-21022). Also the radio only has FM unless you buy a DAB convertor PBA UCA-70354 and ATD FAK-21027 which I didn't get as you can use your phone to stream Spotify etc.

Hope this helps.

I mean they could have done a switch-a-roo with the working one, and gave you an identical brick unit?

If the quad lock fits, and your old unit works in your car still, you have a dead new unit I am afraid.

UPDATE ON MY 3.6 AWD Embrach Estate

Hey chaps snd chapesses - just a quick update on my wonderful 3T Superb 3.6 awd Embrach (Swiss) tuned edition.

It’s a 2010 car that I bought in Switzerland used in 2014 (I’ve never owned a ‘new’ car, never will…some other mug can suffer the depreciation 😆) so now into ten years of ownership. (and Briskoda maybe? 🤷‍♂️).

Car now resides in France (although I am currently working in Saudi…) with over 200k kms on it and runs like clockwork. FSH and the major maintenance bits can be seen on my threads here.

Just had a new set of all season Falken tyres fitted on 17” rims (I have three sets of wheels/tyres now acoss 19/18/17” 🫣😆).

Just back to France to see family and nip out in Wile (the Superb). He never disappoints - a fantastic car 👍🏻👌

Be good folks,

Dave

Recently acquired (as in 4 days ago) 2014 Elegance diesel. 280,000 km on the clock. Black Magic with black interior.

Purchased as a cheap runabout so good family wagon doesn’t get hammered at work.

Another year and another update. Car has just had a DSG box oil and filter service at - wait for it - a Skoda dealer here in France.

Fantastic service and cheaper by €200 euro than the nearest ‘specialist’. Car properly cleaned, too. Friendly, efficient and really nice people. If you are travelling through northern France I’d absolutely recommend these guys and girls at Skoda Lemauviel, Avranches (link below).

Anyway, car now on 301,000kms and flying along. A few more battle scars but smooth, quick, comfortable and lovely. Just did a Geneva - Perpignan - Toulouse - Normandy run over a week and click clockwork although at the DSG service they discovered a broken front spring which was weird. It's driving fine. So, the next job to sort ASAP.

Anyone know a good supplier of KW springs for a 2010 MY 3.6 AWD Superb? I might even revert to standard VAG springs for conformity in the short term…and get the summer 19” wheels back on 🤔🤷‍♂️
