Screenwash.

Featured Replies

Just a thought.

Do we need to be careful about the type of screenwash additive namely the stuff for fan jets or can we just use stuff like Prestone or Halfords ready mixed without any worry about the washer system getting clogged up with gunge.

Ta.

Lidl Screen wash.  The best and is Fan Jet Friendly

This is Surrey, not allowed such low brow stores you know....

I've recently switched to TPS' Quantum screenwash, the scent isn't as overpowering as the Lidl screenwash, which is good in itself, just overpowering.

..........but you mentioned Halfords

I like VW's own stuff, you can get a litre neat for about £6 off ebay.  I find cheaper stuff leaves streak all down the car....

Pop in to Sussex there a few stores there   :giggle:

When did that appear!

I just use the halfords ready mix. Never had front fan jets block, only the common rear blockage on the Mk2 Octavia which happens even with the VAG stuff

When did that appear!

Camberley's has been there for a couple of years now, I think the one in Dorking opened a few weeks ago

Don't you get any Harrod's Local stores down your way then?

Fortnum and Masons Value Screenwash FTW :D

Another vote for VW's own.  You can get it from any VAG dealer and it's surprisingly good value.  It doesn't freeze and it stops smearing.

£6? I got mine from Bristo's @ Ipswich - Windscreen Clear Concentrate - genuine VAG £4.50 a litre.

Quantum is VW's own stuff, and much cheaper from TPS

The Windscreen Clear Concentrate is also VAG's own and is good for -70C. Quantum Standard only provides protection down to -20, so I reckon that it has to be less than £1.50 a litre to be better value

Big fan of lidl's here - also interestingly enough havent noticed much of a smell of it?

I love a good strong smelling screen wash, can't beat the smell of alcohol.

Shame the car puts the re-circ on when the screen is washed.
