Finally our Octy is ready to publish some pictures of her. She is Combi 1.4 TSI DSG Elegance with rough road package, black rails and window surroundings:

She has now Opti-Coat 2.0 surface coating.

The wheels are 16" Minoris with factory installed Michelin Energy Saver 205/55 R16 tyres. Those wheels get for winter 205/60 R16 oversize tyres (Conti/GY/?) and on the following spring she shall wear black 16" Premia wheels with 205/60 R16 oversize tyres (GY/?).

This sits much higher or is it an illusion?

This sits much higher or is it an illusion?

It sits 15 mm higher than standard, because of the rough road package.

Where in Perth are you? I'm in Kings Park.

Joondalup mate. Seen a few skoda's knocking round here lately which has got to be a good sign.

Car is in the cbd most days for work, unless i cycle in.

Corrida red with light interior, awesome!

Cant decide if I like this more than denim blue with light interior!

This colour does not look so great in photos, have to see it yourself :) Light interior looks amazing but not practical at all. No kids, dogs or wife who loves chocolate or ice cream  :D

Just for info, the holes for the dog guard in the headlining have a metal pillar screwed in, which sits proud of the headlining.... This has a shaped rubber bung around it (that grips the pillar) and holds itself in and also covers the edges of he holes.

If you took the guard out and looked, you could see the 2 attachments in the headlining but it wouldn't bother me enough to stop me buying the car.

The only issue would be whether you could get the pillars and bungs seperately, or whether you'd end up giving the dog guard away with the car (the later I suppose, and not really an issue to me on a 4-6 year turnaround)

Looks great! Fitted a roof box on mine yesterday, unloaded at the moment. Loads of space in the car now but I'm sure the Mrs will manage to fill it!

Had to pick up the kit to build my kids a playground in the back yard. Couple of swings, slide, playhouse etc. It was an impulse purchase (I actually went there for some simple garden accessories) so I'm glad I had my trusty tow hook with me (it's detachable so I keep it in the trunk) to pull this cart home. It's also quite nice to still beat people at the traffic lights, even though I'm carrying an extra 500 kilo's of junk.

Do you have a pic of the rear of the scout?

Looks great, both of them.

Cheers - the Scout was close to the wall hence photos at angle, what did you want to see, i can pull it forward and take some more in the morning as it dark here now (was uo your neck of the woods the other week and know its still pretty light at this time of day at this time of year!).

Was interested in seeing the rear valance and ground clearance. I like the colours of both.

Yeah, it's light till late up here, especially at Findhorn.

Finally uploaded some, alongside the vRS also for comparison - interestingly the scout doesn't look that high in comparison as the bumpers appear extended but the clearance is better.

Hope this helps  :)

Really don't like that rear skirt on the scout, far to big, angular and in your face. I prefer the rear on the mk2 scout, rest of the car looks good though and suits the blue.

I don't care for the front and rear skirts, either. They look tacked on and fake to me. I quite like the rest of the Scout, though. If I lived in a place with snow I would have seriously considered one,

I considered the L&K and Scout 4x4. The numbers on our lease scheme were excellent. It was the skirts which set me to thinking of the VRS instead. I really wanted 4x4 having driven Audi Quatrros for years but I'll be buying some winter tyres for the VRS.

Interesting having an owner with both models. How does the Scout compare to the VRS In real world terms?

I don't mind the front one too much as it is reasonably discreet but they have made the rear one far to brash.
