Granted I am not going to be racing people away from the lights (and winning), but I didn't buy the car for that reason - otherwise I'd have bought the vRS.

I test drove the 1.2 and 1.4 Petrol versions before I decided which to get and couldn't spot a difference in performance.

  • The 1.2 is £30 a year to tax, over £110 for the 1.4
  • The turbo in the 1.2 makes if feel like a bigger engine
  • It pulls nicely in each gear once you get above 2k rpm
  • It's more economical that the 1.4
  • The 1.2 SE is the recommended model for a family car for WhatCar 2015 and is highly rated amongst other websites/magazines - i.e. autocar etc.
  • It's cheaper than the 1.4, however I fortunately was able to find one from stock, which is quite lucky as they're one of the more popular models (apparently)
There are some other points too, which swayed me but I can't remember them :)

Do people buy VRSs to race people from the lights? Really ive seen every single one do that...... NOT

The fact you haven't gone for a VRS is you can't afford it going by your other topics.

Pics of my new beauty that I picked up last Friday, over the moon with it!

Photo%2019-06-2015%2011%2015%2059_zps2au

Thinking of lowering springs and spacers next, plus just ordered LED's for the interior...

Went for exact same vrs as yourself..was originally going for a black one in stock but this metal gray is bloody gorgeous and whilst being a tad bit more understated than the race blue still gets tons of admiring looks and nods of approval...I've even seen two men walking around and checking to a see what car make it was ..and they were just out of an Audi A6....I was walking out of shop and stopped and smiled to myself and am really happy with colour and car choice.

Can I ask where that photo was taken. Looks familiar.

Looks like one we were at in the Pyrenees a couple of years ago - The Four Seasons I think. We had to abandon there though because of the flooding!

Very nice, why have ya decided to change from a diesel to a petrol engine?

Very nice, why have ya decided to change from a diesel to a petrol engine?

TBH I wanted the petrol initially, but the diesel came up and alleviated the undetermined wait time.

I needed to change to dsg because of a left knee problem, and a change of circumstances meant more short journeys, so a petrol would be better for that.

Besides, much as I have nothing against diesels, I prefer a petrol 'cos I am a bit old school I guess, and the extra power over the TDi is a bonus :)

Very nice.

On the picture front, you can just open them up in MS Paint or a similar application and resize them to a size that's permitted.

Thanks guys :)

@ dirtydogg, I actually prefer no black pack on the white, but not on most colours.

@Iamholam, Yes alloy pedal covers.

@RobbySpurs, Candy White. Next to one another the moon white is a purer white, but the metallic is very subtle.
