Mudflaps for vrs estate

Featured Replies

Nice work Lady V.

Would you say someone with average DIY skills could comfortably tackle this?

I wasn't going to put any on the car when it arrives but I do actually like the look now having seen the pictures.

  • I fitted front and rear mudflaps to my vRs estate today. Ordered them from Ireland last week and they were delivered by Yodel on Monday. They're straightforward to fit. Two screws to be removed (hex

  • Well i was on the verge of buying these. I thought it was worth it, being only £11 just over (£9 exc VAT). But then i got to the checkout page, and had the shock of my life. Over £12 postage? No, hold

  • I think compared to standard Skoda prices they are cheap even with the shipping, thanks guys!

Or in the Cookie Monsters case. Measure once, eat a cookie, measure a second time, eat another cookie, then finally drill! Mopping up the crumbs whilst drilling hehe

You got me spot on lol except you forgot that everything STARTS with a cookie ;)

Oh and then finish with a celebratory cookie ;)

Most definitely. If I can do it anyone can! (correct tools required though!)

Perfect. I take your word for it.

Look out for pictures on here of a white VRS estate that looks like it has been subjected to heavy machine gun fire.

Good point cookie monster. Dont forget the before and after cookie! Preferably chocolate chip

Fitted mine from Ireland yesterday, no problems. Didn't have to take the wheels off. Although couldn't quite get in with the 7mm drill on the front, but it seems secure with just the 2 screws in place anyway. At some point I may jack the car up and turn the wheel to do it as that should give me enough room.

No problem with the third hole on the rear, lined up perfectly and just had to lie on the floor and reach underneath from the rear to do it.

All in all took about 30 minutes inc a very quick jet wash to remove some of the mud before hand.

Fitted my fronts today - with the wheels off easy peasy no probs. Also drilled the two holes required *shock horror* but was fine lol

Thank you for posting the pics.  I have been looking forward to seeing them.  Very neat job! Just as a matter of interest, the 2 torx screws that came out, were they screwed into taped metal panel or some sort of fixed nut at the back? Did you need to put some paint or Loctite to re-secure them in place? Is  the popper for the drilled hole supplied with the mudflaps?

I have now ordered mine, hopefully they will arrive by next weekend !

Thanks am quite please with myself lol. Um not sure what the two torx screw were screwed into behind the plastic? Nothing additional needed to resecure them, they just screwed back in fine. Yes the popper is supplied with the flaps. Highly recommend taking the wheels off if drilling the fronts. Even then it was drilled at a slight angle due to the size of my drill (lol)

The Torx screw go into ‘speed clips’ so nothing is needed to help keep them tight

Is that the cookie crumbs i can see on the floor?  Top marks cookie monster. You obviously took plenty of cookies beforehand

Does anybody have a photo of the full rear of their car with these fitted?,  so you can see both mud flaps?. I can only see photos of one at a time shown. I want to see if these improve the stance of the car. I tend to think that the car looks slightly narrow. This isn't helped by the excessive negative offset of the wheels... It's a pity Skoda did this.

Could someone do this for me please?... Thank you.

Is this good enough? Sorry its probably not overly clear as its a bit dark........

DVLA Personalised I guess.

Yes indeed its a personalised plate. Didnt cost that much and I really like it :) personal to both me and the car. Obviously when the car and I part, he shall keep the plate but I dont intend to do that for a looooooooooooooooong time :D

Hi,

Thanks for the photo!!!

My vrs Estate is white and mud flaps fitted, I'll get you a square on pic from the rear today. IMO they do fill the gaps nicely and make the motor appear lower/squat

Hi Parsey,

Any chance of a square on pic of your white with mud flaps...

Cheers

Steve
