Whats your next car / possible car after the MKI

Featured Replies

Well, mine is still a (relatively) low mileage example and in very good order for 90k! To be honest, I would like to see another 2-300,000 miles from it before chucking her away!

When I win the lottery, I will have an RS4!!   (amongst others!)

Changed your mind in half hour? lol

  • Very tempting, but a few things  For one, I find the "Seat" front grille a tad fugly when compared to even the mk1 Fabia, although I think that can be improved with the sportier kit? Its wierd the re

I think I'm with you above....pie in the sky ideas about a Yeti like this one

Its possible but checking on wisebuyers my 1 owner Fabia BLT 2006 with 110 is gonna be worth £3300 !! FFS

Hence its still worth far more to me than it is to sell to anyone else unfortunately. I could afford to do it but denting my savings quite a bit, why worry, I've got a good thing at the moment with my mk1....I have to keep telling myself lol

I've got an s2000 but its turbo'd in fact its quicker than the TVR tuscan i had before not just because it actually ran 50% of the time lol, but its more reliable. They take boost so well so big power can be had for little cash really.

You can get can get a good early one for 5-6k, but the facelifted ones are much better.

having recently spun an S2000 at fairly low speeds  I can't imagine what it would be like to drive one with a turbo...  :o

im guessing they would be easy to spin at extremely slow speeds ? Lol

I've spun it in NA form, but this car makes you a better driver with no aids, unfortunately NA to extract the best performance you need to drive it on the limit - which becomes dangerous if you dont know what your doing, a lot Honda Vtec owners dont know how to drive IME.

The biggest problem is most owner's though don't realise they have seized bushes and bad geometry alignment which makes them a twichy hedge finding car :(

You have boost by gear, and wider wheels with good tyres.

In anything other than completely dry weather it will wheel spin, but when it dry its like a sling shot. The chassis is so well designed and rigid to begin with it handles the power extremely well. You've got an supercar like acceleration with great handling to boot - however on **** road you will be shown up by 4 wheel drive cars like evo's etc. If you drive it like a tool it will bite you, i've had it fish tail easily if i don't modulate throttle.

I got bought a Ferrari 458 for xmas so that kind of nullifies all my other ideas. I think from this point on its always got to be shiny red and sporty.

Sadly, it is a rc miniature :)

But there is always something like this.....

That fe sport is nice. Lichfield also do a performance package for the gt86 :)

yeah, it's by no means something you need to be a racing driver to drive but it's factory set up isn't anything like a more mainstream (fwd) grocery getter that most cars are - if you take the sort of liberties with the throttle that you might normally take it will kick your ass, as I found out :(

I really want a k1 Leon

The shape before last are real nice, esp an fr tdi diesel with btcc kit got to be the 170 version though.

Not sure what I want next maybe a Cooper-s jcw or gp.

Not for a while though, going to try and keep my Fabia for a good 4-5 years

That 159 is nice from the front.

Slightly boring choices, (deleted)

If I still live where I do, probably either a used Fabia MkII Elegance 1.6 TDI, or a Monte (although it's not really worth having anything flashy living opposite a school) or a used Diesel Golf, depending on how pennies are and how big a car I'll need.

If I move somewhere where parking is less of an issue, then I'd probably consider a used Rapid or Toledo as well. Shame Skoda's have to be Elegance spec to get fog lights as standard. I often end up driving in low visibility, so find them pretty necessary. It's going to be another couple of years before I can even consider a replacement, so hopefully there will be a few used Rapids/toledos around by then. the extra space will be a bonus when I've a car full of work kit to transport.

Join the boring club mate, lol!

I find at night. People see a skoda badge and slow right downwhen you appear behind tthem

Local police like their unmarked skodas lol

True! I deliver to the local plod garage in my job and get to see all the plain clothes stuff. Cars and Bikes. Buggers!

Beautiful car, just a shame about the poor reputation of the electrics. Two best colours black and red.

Well I'd love to say a classic Chevy Camero, or a classic Dodge Challenger, but the likelyhood of that is slimmer than none.

Snap! A shame we're not rich, lol.

I want an evo or s2k but gotta wait at least a couple of years!

Well due to my current mileage I'm stuck with a diesel for the foreseeable future so for now the VRS is running until it can run no more, however if my mileage changes there's a few cars I would like.

If I was spending a decent amount of money I would probably go for 911 Turbo, yes I know the running costs are a killer, but I could afford it, BMW 135i or something like a Monaro VXR. Although most of those would decimate my house deposit.

More realistically would be either a Renaultsport Megane or Focus ST or for a project car a 1991 4th gen Honda Civic VTi.

My Boss has the mk1 shape Monaro VXR but the 500bhp supercharged version. Lethal in the wet.

After the vRS, im not 100% sure. Nothing out of the VAG range.

Wouldn't mind a Mk 5 or 6 Gold GTI or even a 6R Polo GTI

Depends what i can afford and how much the car prices drop lol.

Mine is a mk2 fabia vrs which I've got now and don't even miss the old mk1 fabia vrs

Been looking around for a new car for the last few months, have bounced between many options. Started with the Mk2 Fabia but was put off by the horror stories regarding the oil consumption, the fact that their seems to be very little specific and clear info on how to check the oil level correctly and that 185Bhp from a 1.4 petrol sounds like something that is on the limit all the time. Then found the 2.0L Seat Ibiza FR, doesn't produce quite the power the Mk2 Fabia does but a nice big 2.0L Diesel sounds good, Iam just not a huge fan of the interior look, it looks kinda cheap. Other option is a 2.0L Leon FR, more power, better interior trim and then a few weeks back I happened upon the Mazda 3. Specifically the 185Bhp Sat Nav version, 2.2L Diesel, 185BHp, and the thing is spec beyond anything you'll find in the Vag Group at the same price, even the shall we say cheaper end of the Vag group, auto wiper, auto lights, heated leather front seats, full electric window, 6 cd changer with Ipod dock, bluetooth and built in satnav, cruise control, and that's just the things I can remember.

The 185s seem to be fairly rare with the 2.2L 150 being more common and having similar spec minus the satnav, right here and right now the Mazda 3 is well top of the list.

Had my heart set on an Evo 8 MR FQ340 since I passed my test, has to be Gunmetal grey as well. Couple of years when I have my own house and a mortgage one WILL be sat in my garage with the fabia sat on the drive.

Your choice of car had me curious so I decided to have little look about.... And come across this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ees2aZcDUn8

Holy moley what the beep. If someone had said that to me before watching I would've laughed at them. What a machine!
