Whats your next car / possible car after the MKI

Not so much be happy with a monster as something more practical but not shabby either, in fact not far off what the vRS does but maybe slightly upmarket.

Which is why I recently noticed some good looking Yetis on skoda used, ebay etc, like the 140 tdi ? The 170 tdi too, would be epic and not dissimilar to the vRS.

Although I think its really not much different from the 110 perhaps just about the map so the engine maps are a bit of a con ? Although it is 4x4 which probably does help put power down.

Damn I wish I wasn't even looking, I mean I've only just sorted the suspension and changed the seats but y'know, can't hurt to look can it !

Maybe its partly because its a bit like a marriage...I've literally owned my mk1 vRS for like 6-7 years now ! I'm getting the 7 yr itch !! lol

Changed your mind in half hour? lol

  • Very tempting, but a few things  For one, I find the "Seat" front grille a tad fugly when compared to even the mk1 Fabia, although I think that can be improved with the sportier kit? Its wierd the re

  • My fabia vrs is today being replace by a seat exeo estate tech sport....

After the sensible fabia id be chasing 300bhp or as close as possible. Or something very quick / entertaining

Audi b5 s4 or b6

Audi 8l s3

Tt 225

E36 m3

Mk2 golf with a 20v turbo

Corrado vr6 - ironically getting rid of my first raddo made me get the fabia. But the noise and looks are missed

Lloyds Mk 1 octy vrs

If I'm still using it as a work car as I do now either a bora 150 tdi or a mk1 Leon cupra 150 tdi or mondeo St tdci. If I was go to petrol then probably a lcr or maybe a mk1 octy vrs.

I want back my mint black Mk 2 Golf 16 valve the ex-wife made me sell, I loved that car which is why it had to go!

Pug 205 1.6 GTi runs it a close second for fun but the build quality was just shocking.

Modern tackle is so hideously overweight and sluggish by comparison, all the airbags and soundproofing and emissions strangulation.

I miss my old mk2 as well. The best car i've owned so much fun, would embarrass many newer cars.

Always wanted a pug never got around to it my mate owned one in miami blue it was lush.

 mondeo St tdci.

How come matey?

When the time does come to move on, the car that's catching my eye at the minute is a Golf GTi Edition 35. Lovely inside and out, and a hugely tuneable motor - easy 370bhp for £1500...

However, as I have a bike as well, the sensible man in me may take over and opt for another fast diesel!

How come matey?

I've always been a Ford man and was looking at one before I got the fabia but couldn't find a nice one for the right money. Probably won't like one after have a vag diesel as these are lovely to drive but do like the look of them

I'd honestly tempted with a MK1 Octavia VRS, something appealing about it. But it's hard to find an 05 plate without moon miles. Would love a DC2 Type R.....that isn't rusted or abused.

I looked at a mondeo st diesel before the fabia aswell, wanted to look like the local under cover plod.

I like them, look good and decent spec and good mpg. Not sure what they map too actually they're 155 standard not sure of torque

I did too. But they are overpriced. More than an ST220 !

I find at night. People see a skoda badge and slow right downwhen you appear behind tthem

Local police like their unmarked skodas lol

No one wants a 3.0 v6 that's why lol. They're about the same price as a fabia vrs to be fair

When I was looking for one they were asking 6000-7000. Compared to the Fabia which was 4000-5000.

Those st tdci's are nice looking cars

Apparently the rear bumper likes to sag under its own weight

And everone of them i've seen the original alloys are corroded to bits

Diesels are always more to buy and hold their money better normally too! As Kyle said, running them isnt cheap! That said, I'd have the petrol if I was to get one, the 2.2 isnt anything amazing or worthy of the st badge imo.

Yeah, most of the ones I looked at the wheels were mullered. Shame as they look fantastic when in good nick.

But then is a 1.9 tdi in the fabia worthy of a vrs badge?? Or in the octavia?? I had a quick search and I think you can get them mapped upto 200bhp, not sure on torque though

Can you get the PD130 in another trim Fabia? Or the CR170 or even 2.0T in a poverty spec Octavia? You can get the same 2.2 tdci engine in the ST in a Ghia or Zetec in the Mondeo. It's just a boggo rep mobile one with a bodykit.

In essence the Fabia is a shopping trolley with a bodykit and a taxi engine as I have said many times before BUT the vRS badge isnt aimed at the same market as the ST is it? Skoda is the budget brand, I would say it competes with a ST/VXR thats more the Cupra R of the Seats job. Therefore I would say the Octavia and Fabia are worthy of the badge. Just my opinion of course!

Yeah fair point to be honest st and vrs badges are more of a sales gimmick more than anything to be fair. Abit like the escort rs2000 that should never of got a rs badge to be fair and even though diesels are quite quick now performance models should be big power petrols IMO

How much you looking at to turbo an s2000?

About 4k mate that sees you in the 500s bhp easily and more if you run race gas.

Another Skoda :D

I'd like a MK2 Octavia VRS Petrol. But the prices vary so much it's silly. One person will ask 4500 for an 06 with 60k on the clock. Another will ask for 5900 for the same year and more mileage. O_o

Subaru impreza STI 330 2008-2010 plate or Evo 8 will be my decider after the fabia
