Enabling cornering fogs with VCDS - updated for vRS

Featured Replies

Don't forget to try Byte 1 Bit 2 on the Rain Light Sensor to see if the rain closing works :-)

I can't be arsed to go back out to the car now and try it LOL

Maybe I'll use Neily03 as a guinea pig tomorrow :-)

Fine by me :)

  • Just checked, they do both come on when I put it in reverse which is not a bad idea especially when you are reversing out of a tight spot and the front swings at a large angle!

  • I  now have 2 rear fog lights - an absolute doddle!   I'm posting the adaptations in a minute.   Why Skoda dealers can't get their head round this is beyond me ............   http://www.briskoda

  • Nice work lads. Shame the same can't be said for Skoda UK   So as originally thought, instead of simply activating the cornering fogs during manufacture, Skoda UK have instead decided to issue a rev

ssfan has an SE so we'll see what it has and what works, pretty sure it has the rain sensor.  Also it doesn't LED lights at the back.

The rear lights with DRL annoyed me as the dash illuminated as well, basically it is parking lights enabled with DRL.

OK - you need to look for which adaptation channels are set to Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Rechtsverkehr and Nebelschlusslicht wenn kein Anhaenger gesteckt und Linksverkehr. Hopefully it is still 26 and 27, they are pretty close to the bottom of the list of adaptations. Hopefully it works for a standard cluster - the bulb isn't shared with another function is it as it may get a little more complicated if it is.

couple of pics for the guides to show both cornering fogs working on an O3 VRS, can confirm the turning head light function also remains with cornering fogs

Andyvee could you message me the contact for Mike Holroyd as Whitby is only 8 miles away from me, thanks

He's shrunk since moving to Whitby .........

You need module 20 for high beam assist, not sure if module A5 (Lane Assist) can be coded/adapted. Unfortunately, the published security access code doesn't work apparently.

Andyvee the correct security code for the A5 controller is 20103 as per my traffic sign guide. Olly

Cheers Olly, I misunderstood one of your posts and thought the security access code didn't work.

Yes the security code on stemei.de for controller A5 is incorrectly listed as 20301 when it is 20103.

Right, we've done some more fiddling with ssfan's SE 4x4 and:

1. Enabling the extra fog light works without issue.

2. The car doesn't have a rain/light sensor.

3. Dipping the passenger wing mirror doesn't work, the adaption channel comes up as "unavailable". I also noticed the coding of Byte 4 was different to the screenshot.

4. Teardrop wipe didn't seem to work even though the adaptation all worked.

You need to be moving for teardrop, it won't work when stationary.

Shame about the mirror dip.

I am struggling with the RLS - every time I tried to code anything on it it comes up as Rejected out of range. So it must need a different security access code as I get the same with no code or the adaptations code for 09.

Just had a thought, 09 seems to randomly time you out, did you try going out of the controller, entering the security access again and having another go?

Thank you again for your "fiddling" this afternoon! Once I got on the road, the rear tear drop wipe started working !! But the front still not for some reason.

Rear fogs both work - brilliant!

Hi guys, I got my Octavia VRs last week and am loving it! Sorry to bother you with what seems like a basic question, but I only joined the forum last night and am trying to contact Mike Holroyd but the system says I do not have permissions to contact anyone by personal message. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Damian

I think you now need a certain amount of posts before you can use the pm system. Go and ask a few questions about your new car and you should easily rack IP the required number of posts.

OK, Thank you, I'll give it a go.

I got the same problem here. The RLS is not to recode. Tryed at a few O3's

Could the problem be that the RLS adaptions are in 09 en not stand alone anymore.

Could be. I'll try out a couple of things today.

I see the new 2014 brochure still says "Bi-Xenon, AFS and LED daytime running lights, cornering fog lights & light assistant Includes rain sensor" for the vRS.
