Enabling cornering fogs with VCDS - updated for vRS

Featured Replies

I see the new 2014 brochure still says "Bi-Xenon, AFS and LED daytime running lights, cornering fog lights & light assistant Includes rain sensor" for the vRS.

That's been I every brochure, SUK have confirmed 'cornering fogs' is a typo.

  • Just checked, they do both come on when I put it in reverse which is not a bad idea especially when you are reversing out of a tight spot and the front swings at a large angle!

  • I  now have 2 rear fog lights - an absolute doddle!   I'm posting the adaptations in a minute.   Why Skoda dealers can't get their head round this is beyond me ............   http://www.briskoda

  • Nice work lads. Shame the same can't be said for Skoda UK   So as originally thought, instead of simply activating the cornering fogs during manufacture, Skoda UK have instead decided to issue a rev

Having met up with Mike H at the weekend to make some alterations to my O3 VRs (n/s door mirror automatically dipping on reverse, cornering fogs, 2 x rear fogs vice 1, rear day time running lights and led's on auto fan blower), all are warmly welcomed additions. Mike also activated rear tear drop and increased the comfort indicator from 3 to 5, but neither seem to have taken. So, as suggested by Mike, I'll reset the factory settings to see if this will work (unless anyone else has any other suggestions prior to this)? Cheers Damian

Tear drop works only when driving this is for the front so i think the rear is the same

Comfort blinking works always normaly. I got 1 O3 to wich have the same problem like you. Resetting, disconnect the battary will not work. I have not figure it out yet

The idea of 2 fogs is very appealing, especially as I do go to France fairly regularly.

Is this legal though where they fogs are mounted in the main cluster?

Rear is the same. Comfort indicator flashes didn't work on some FL O2 models either for no apparent reason.

Google will translate the page for you.http://www.stemei.de/pages/coding/seat-leon-5f/abbiegelicht-ueber-nebelscheinwerfer.php

The vRS has 2 bulbs per side, so needs some additional adaptation. The full sequence for a vRS is (tried and tested)

Controller 09 - Central Electronics

16 - Security Access - enter 31347

10 - Adaptations

Change the 4 channels listed below - scroll to just over halfway down the long list of adaptation channels to find them. Do them one after the other, and do not come out of the adaptations until you have finished. If you do, you will have to close the controller and go back in and enter the security access code again.

For a non-vRS, only the first two need doing as you only have one bulb each side

Andy, I coded a very early MKIII vRS today and whilst it took the coding both fog lights were lit all the time whilst the lights were on (tried with the DSG in P and N) so I had to uncode it again, have you had any such problems?

(Haven't read the whole thread as I am in a poor 3G area)

Anyone with VCDS living in the South fancy coding a VRS for me? I live in Bournemouth although travel a lot in the South,...

You coded them as parking lights, be very careful with the German, I did the same and had 3 cornering fogs and 1 sidelight LOL

I used the coding you put in post 1, are you saying that coding is for parking lights and not Corning lights then?

  • Author

Nope, there are 2 almost identical settings, one is cornering lights and the other is parking lights. I have made the same mistake, and so has Mike Holroyd. The German is almost identical.

Looked it up as I have had a few people contact me with the same issue

you need to make sure it is Abbiegelicht links / rechts

my money is on you chose Abblendlicht links / rechts (low beam)

I'm following this thread with interest......

I'm based in Mansfield - To whom must I grace their palm with beer tokens to recieve this VCDS greatness on my Octy vRS?

If you fancy a 3 1/2 hour round trip I'll make the changes!

I'm down at jct 25. Alternatively there will probably be someone with VCDS at the monthly meet in Sutton next Tuesday.

Ahhhh Rossendale.... Land of the Ex-wifes family and Hollingworth lake (Pie 'n' Peas? NO CHIPS??????)

I just may take you up on that, as I visit North Wales often :)

Trundlenut - Whereabouts is the Sutton Meet? (I know this sounds an ABSURD question, but I've only just moved here  :wall: )

I think it is at The Snipe. Look in the east Midlands forum there is a thread in there with all the info. I busy next Tuesday so won't be there.

Land of ecky thump I think you mean. :)

Hollingworth doesn't count as Rossendale, in Rawtenstall we have one of the best chippies I have ever come across. The fish just melts in your mouth.

  • 1 year later...

Mmm, I have a slight variation to the above.

My outer Fogs on VRS come on permanent with xenons, then the inner bulbs come on with the cornering/reverse!

  • Author

Because you have coded them incorrectly. There is a difference between abblendlicht and abbiegehlicht. All covered in the sticky thread in bold capitals as a warning.

Andyvee is as always correct, I did it wrong the first time, check your coding very closely.

You weren't the first (I was actually LOL) and you won't be the last either .......

I actually quite like the way it's set up now, so might leave it how it is although the yellow bulbs don't match the DRL or xenons.

Yes I recall reading the exact warning as I've studied that thread a lot but still messed it up ha ha.

Interestingly, if the xenons have come on with the rain wipers, the dogs don't come on, but if it's dark or on manual low beam, they are present.

The next owner to buy this car in a few years is going to get a very unique spec lol.

That and you are blinding every driver who comes the other way!

You should know its illegal to drive with your fog lights on in clear weather and I think that law should be enforced, besides that its just rude!

Moving traffic offence, No points but a fine.......( think it's £30 or £60 )
