Enabling cornering fogs with VCDS - updated for vRS

Featured Replies

That would be an interesting discussion if the fogs set as drl's..

I don't find the vrs fogs aim that high to be honest... Far from dazzling oncoming traffic.... But i accept that using them inappropriately could be deemed an offence

  • Just checked, they do both come on when I put it in reverse which is not a bad idea especially when you are reversing out of a tight spot and the front swings at a large angle!

  • I  now have 2 rear fog lights - an absolute doddle!   I'm posting the adaptations in a minute.   Why Skoda dealers can't get their head round this is beyond me ............   http://www.briskoda

  • Nice work lads. Shame the same can't be said for Skoda UK   So as originally thought, instead of simply activating the cornering fogs during manufacture, Skoda UK have instead decided to issue a rev

Moving traffic offence, No points but a fine.......( think it's £30 or £60 )

It's fogs as DRL's. They are definitely not as bright as normal fog lights. I can take a pic.

It was possible on the MkII to set the front fogs as DRL's, but the intensity could be altered, 50%, 60% etc. so you could reduce their brightness.

You can do that on the O3 as well, in fact you can alter the intensity of almost every light if you wanted to!

Mmm, I have a slight variation to the above.

My outer Fogs on VRS come on permanent with xenons, then the inner bulbs come on with the cornering/reverse!

Well I've corrected this now, so cornering fogs work as they should.

Well almost work as they should as in the day they don't work and only work when the xenon headlights are on?!

There's no reason for them to work when the lights aren't needed in the first place, right?

Oh right, I thought they worked in the day too?!

They would be of limited use if they did work in the day

They work in the day on VW's and Seats.

Well i don't know about you, but I bought a skoda! :)

Ok, well I guess I've done it right then if on the Skoda's it's only when the Xenons are on :)

Forgive my ignorance but Does anyone know who I would go to enable the cornering fogs on my oct eleg 63 reg? Should I try an auto electrician? Skoda won't do it , I've been told to find someone who has a VCDS or something? I just don't want to get shafted or mess up my car that's all

Thanks

There is a list on here of people who have VCDS. See if there is anyone local to you.

Cheers pal, I will

Appreciated

Just invested in VCDS and this was the first mod I made. Not a VRS so only one set of bulbs to worry about.

I initially thought I had done it wrong as they did not light up when I turned the wheel - car was stationary on the driveway in daylight with the light switch in Auto (the default for me).

However later noticed - courtesy of reflection in a shop window - that they do work when the headlights are on, the car was also moving forwards (slowly). There are settings in the controller for the speed range in which the cornering fogs operate I believe.

Thinking about it I am not sure I would actually want them to work without the lights on as the value to me is in providing more light when turning in the dark.

They don't work unless the lights are on

Yes I thought the same, they are a safety feature so I thought would work in the daylight too like some other VAG cars.

DRL’s are a safety feature (to make you more visible) cornering fogs are purely there to give YOU more light at low speed to help pick out the curbs etc, so pointless when it is daylight.

Hello, All

First post on here, I was wondering if there was anyone in the Norfolk area that has access to VCDS system to activate cornering front fog lights on a MKIII VRS MY16?

Thanks

There is a VCDS owners map in that relevant section. Hopefully someone local can help you :)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I was wondering if anyone knows if there's any way possible to add a menu setting for this option in the Lights section of the car settings of the infotainment system once it's been enabled. Similar to the Coming/Leaving Home menu options etc. Cornering fogs is a handy feature in the right environment but depending on my driving conditions I don't require it to be activated all the time. It would be a useful feature if it could be switched on/off in the menu system instead of activating it with VCDS then de-activating it when I don't require it.

Cornering works on Vrs  during day time but not when switch on AUTO, drl/side light or full headlights options and it works fine, o

No. I do not believe such a menu item exists that could be activated.
