If I've ordered a steel spare wheel...

Featured Replies

..with the new Fabia, do I automatically get a jack?*

I forgot to ask at the time but assumed that it would because the Octy came with it.

Thanks

*Dumbest question on the forums this year to date.

Would only make sense to me that it's a kit.

:)

Does the world have to make sense though?

Serious mode: well it made sense to me too but then I began to wonder given that it would be another chance to extract a few shekels from me.

Quick look at the accessories Brochure suggests that spare wheel kit is from £120.00 and a spare wheel tool kit is from £35.00 so mad as it sounds, looks to me like they are separate.

But Skoda don't like to make it easy for you to figure out.  What did your supplying dealer say?

..........................can I also say your profile pic scares the bejesus out of me

I suppose this is a bit of a tangent... but Australian Fabias come with a spare (including a jack) as standard. As stated above, it would be odd to have no jack with a spare. I'd certainly make a noise at the dealership if the jack wasn't included.

Then again, I remember a time when dealers gave you a FULL tank of petrol, even on used cars.

Here because of the EU Emission test they weigh the lightest standard car from a production line.

then it does 3,000 km then gets tested.

so that is a basic Standard car with no Optional Extras in,

so the 'Spare Wheel & Jack' are Optional Extras on the models they want to have lowest Unladen Weight & Co2 Emissions.

Best check with the Dealer what they are going to provide, the Spare Wheel & Jack are sometimes 2 items not a set of 1.

The year is still young, plenty of time for me to post a few ridiculous questions!

Is it the same jack in the Octy? If so, and you are doing a part ex then keep your jack and if it doesn't come with one you're sorted, if it does take the jack in another day and tell them you found it in the shed?

We're keeping the Octy, the Fabia is the run around and when Mrs H does not fancy manouvering an estate around the enourmous SUV's that frequent our area.

Dealer said nothing but I'll ask him.

I need to read that brochure again! Good find.

And Sparkly, how can the little fellow on the right be scary? Now the person on the right....   :)

The Fabia does not come with a spare wheel, jack or tools as standard.  It has a useless gunge kit.  When I bought mine 2 years ago (pre registered), I bought a spare wheel (which came with the right jack and tools) direct from the dealer for around £125.  I also asked them to give me the compressor which came with the gunge kit which I have in the boot of the car in case I get a slow puncture.  I had paid for the compressor anyway so had no qualms in asking for it. In fact I now wish that I had asked for the bottle of gunge and the polystyrene thing that fits in the spare wheel well so that I could remove my spare wheel and put the useless gunge kit back in when I come to sell the car. Hope this helps.

I ordered a spare wheel and it came with jack and basic tools. Collected the car three weeks ago so I think that's the current arrangement.

Spare wheel option on my 2013 Yeti came with tool kit - why wouldn't it?
