2013 vrs interior in my mk2 vrs.... Yummy! Pics inside!

Nice mod buddy looks very good the red trim on the seats goes well with the colour of your car. Not quite sure I'll be willing to invest what I imagine to be a small fortune on a new interior as I quite like the standard one in my mk2 pre FL. That said without people like you who are willing to try doing things like this the car modifying world would be a very dull place. There are too many people out there not willing to accept that people like different things. The way I see it is it your car, money and time so keep doing what your doing and I for one will be keen to see how your octy progresses

  • But i haven't had to shoe horn anything, everything has fit in without any real modification, so i had to swap the cover from one base to another, its not exactly cutting and shutting a trim in there,

  • Why do you need to know why he needs to know why?

  • As promised, pics of the rears. Old bench stripped. Fitting new covers to old bench. And in, there's still a little filling I need to do so remove some of the saggy ness in the centre, but I'm

Looks good, but those seats are NOT built with whiplash in mind by the look of it. :peek:

Looks great , it a shame the door cards from the new vas don't fit.

the main thing wrong with the mk2 and facelift mk2 is the cheap trim on the doors

and plastic silver bits on the dash they just bring the car down to a low level.

I think you've done a great job there, massive improvement over the original VRS dirt magnet seats .

This was over two years ago!

That looks really good mate. I like the mk2 seats but those mk3 look amazing and great job fitting them.

Oh wow where did this get bumped from lol.

OP hasn't been active since June last year so might not have the car now.

Hey man I’m currently doing the same swap over as my Octavia seats were ripped from old owner and there was a wreaking 2014 vrs so I jumped on the seats just woundering how you went about with the backs of the back seats getting them into car and also how u went about the airbag plugs cheers

You need to snip the plugs off the mk3 vrs and fit the ones off the mk3 seats.

The do not simply drop in as mentioned, they can be made to fit, but will not tilt forward.

The only option is to remove the foam and material from the mk3 seats and fit them to the frames of the mk2.

So theses came up on ebay and I snapped them up, paid a small fortune for them, wasn't even sure they'd fit....

The front were a direct swap, I had to swap the air bag plug but that's it, the drivers seat belt indicator was the same, these are heated but ill need to find someone breaking a mk2 with heated seats and I'm confident I could have them working too.

The rears wern so easy, anyone who has removed the rear seats will know the uppers are mounted on a single pin, one at each side, and in the centre there are 2 rollers, the new seats mount exactly the same way but the peg is much thinner so I simply had to file the original pegs down, then the pretty much dropped straight it, and with a little swearing the side "cushions" went in too.

The base however does not fit at all. It's one piece and is around 4" thicker, I have 2 realistic options for this, fit a octy mk2 bench that is somewhat close looks wise, or take the new bench and the 60/40 old bench and have the new cover, "made to fit"

Anyway, here's some pics, enough talking, here's some pics...

I definitely want MK3 seat in my O2!

All i have to do is

- Find mk3 vrs seats

- Change racks from the old seats to new one(mk3)

- Take the rear ones but only lower part and take it apart and just change leather

- And find someone who can connect airbag connector(connect to existing o2 original cable)

Is there anything else??.. I would really appreciate for the reply :D

If your having to strip the mark 3 seats down to place over the mk2 seat frames,,,:: surely you’ll just use your mk2 airbags ??? So no need to to change plugs ?? Or am I reading it wrong 🤣

I appreciate this is an old thread but I'm looking to swap my cloth interior for a half leather from a 2016 which I got cheap. Yes I know I need to swap the plugs but the wires are different colours, does anyone know which goes to which

Mk 2 brown black yellow

Mk 3 brown green white

I'm presuming brown goes to brown but then what
