EVAP Emission control system purge flow fault

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Fabia's exaust gas control system light came on a week back. I had no issues with the car's power or anything of that sort. After a few hours of research, i finally ended up buying the diagnostic scanner which gave me the exact issue as "EVAP Emission control system purge flow fault"

I did a few checks as mentioned under discussions on this site, but I couldnt find any issue on the car.

Is it okay for me to assume it as a one off incident that triggered the light, and erase it using the diagnostic scanner?

If i erase it, Will it pop up again if it is a real problem and needs attention or Have i messed up with warning system

(if it is a realy problem  I dont want to ignore it and make the problem worse)

Please advice me !!

As a guess I would say a faulty N80 purge valve.

You didn't specify the engine, year or fault code so it just a guess.

Sorry !

its a fabia 1.4  (2002) the fault code was PO0441. I am quite tempted to erase the code. :) and see if it comes back again. But i am not sure if I should do that.

Overfilling the fuel tank can sometimes cause this error, but the most likely cause is a faulty N80 valve. This is located between the vent line and the throttle.

The EVAP purge valve is located next to the coolant expansion tank, disconnect the plug and test for continuity, if the valve is open circuit then you need a new one, if not there may still be a wiring fault to the valve.
