Lol okay I'll try my best...actually the new digicam i just got makes the car look 100 times better than it actually is , you cant see all the fine (car wash inflicted , no doubt) and not so fine (all over the bootlid-being resprayed coz its that bad) scratches on the car!!

duncan,

nice car. have always had a soft spot for the galant, looks very purposeful, nice design.

hope you enjoy it mate.

A nice looking car with a bit of character, unlike many recent 'designs'.

Nice car, nice V6 engine as well -- bet it sounds great.

looking forward to seeing the new wheels and spoiler

BTW, nice colour too, Duncan! :D

My Dad asked me what Galants look like, a while back when I'd been for a test drive in one (sadly only the 2.0). I told him to imagine "a destroyer on wheels" :D

Nice looking car, Duncan ... :)

Thanx for ur comments , will post up more pics when wheels and spoiler are done!

Nice motor Duncan, hopefully we'll get a good look at a future meet ;)

With regards to the car-wash swirls. get some Colour Magic or similar, with a bit of elbow grease it might just do the job :)

Nice car Dmac :) Though you shouldn't have gave away your VRS :(.

It's odd how the Galant has indicators on the right instead to the left. As I drove one as a courtesy car.

That's because it's Japanese, Chanser. They drive on the left, as we do, and have never swapped their stalks round. Ours swapped from the right to the left sometime in the 70s to match European imports - I guess it makes one less thing they have to build for RHD cars. A sign that our own car industry was on its last legs .........:(

I've read that cars built in the UK by a Japanese company (can't remember which one) have stalks on the left for the European market, but fit them on the right for the Japanese market. So, things have come full circle...

Hi Duncan,

nice looking car........just the right side of pretty boy blue.;)

What made you decide to change the Lancer....apart from the fact that the Galant is a V6?:D

Cheers.

Adrian.

Coming as it does from one of the 2 Briskoda members who have actually seen my car, that has really upset me...grumpy.gif

Never mind, maybe my engine won't prove to be lazy low down. wink.gif

What will prove your engine is not so lazy low down?;)

Am working on that tardiness.......hopefully the N75 valve will do the trick. Not getting it until end of this week or beginning of next as VAGPARTS have sold out. These N75 valves must be doing something seeing as people keep on buying them.

Ah, reminds me of my trusty Galant, only mine was red, and S reg. I only got rid of it because it cost me a fortune in tax!

I loved the noise the V6 made, and it was a really comfy car to drive long distances (I took mine to the South of France, crossing via the tunnel -about 800 miles one way)

My only moan was the size/shape of the boot, and the boot lid -which appeared to be made of cooking foil!

I probably only found these drawbacks because of my habit of loading the thing with wine whenever I was in France. I eventually had to have uprated rear springs fitted, to increase ground clearance to stop it grounding!

Overall, a lovely car, and my Mitsubishi dealer (Clare's Garage of Bedford) Were the best dealer I've ever used.

Happy memories.......

Phil

DMac

I once passed a V6 Galant on an empty stretch of 'foreign motorway'. He saw me coming in the Impreza and put his foot down which meant that from a 90mph cruise, I was doing 135 by the time I passed. I have a full Autocar roadtest on the V6 for a couple of quid plus the postage. PM if interested.

Speculative Advertising ? Fair enough. Helpful member is another interpretation.

Ooops. I seem to have been taken seriously for once. I didn't mean to be in this instance! redface.gif
