I'm off to a mazda dealer next weekend I think, to investigate the plan b I've formulated today.

A friend has an order made late Nov/ early Dec TDi Estate vRS, still no build week.

My TSi Hatch ordered 21st Jan, no sign of a build date, and not many vRS's coming out of the factory this month from what I have been told ...

Well by close of play tommorrow, maybe Tuesday I should have my delaers latest view and proposal plus offers from Merc, Audi and Jag so crunch time approaches...

vRS seems to have issues, my TSI Elegance would have been 8 weeks but, I'm holding out for the 14 plate so, it'll be 9. Some vRS's seem slower than others from what I see on here, diesels slow, diesel estates even slower, add a pano roof, ACC & possible lane assist and you may see Santa sooner than your car.

And it's mostly ACC or the Lane Assist camera that is the issue(and other "high" tech toys). As i've ordered an Elegance estate in Denmark, and here specced the Lane Assist camera as part of a package. Now alot of people who ordered the standard Elegance estate have received theirs(about 2½ months from order to delivery), however my order from 4th November has just recieved a confirmed build week 10, and with delivery it will make it about 5½ months from order to delivery. Even if you don't spec the lane assist(or can't?) the camera is used for alot of things(for instance the high-beam assistant, traffic recognition) so it does get added anyway but disabled via software.

 

I think that alot of issues with the vRS's are from this and other toys that are standard on the spec but not on the Elegance. Chances are if you order a bog standard Elegance you would recieve it in 2, maybe 3 months. Now the funny part is that i could have ordered an Golf with almost the same spec as my Octavia(for a price premium ofc) but recieved it in a matter of 2-3 months... 

But i much prefer the looks of the O3 and the price is decent so I'm left waiting, at least the end is nearing.

Are they off the list now then ?, probably best, I didn't bother ordering them, the car doesn't need to tell me how to drive, the wife perfectly Fn able of doing that without the car starting, I'd think they were ganging up on me if the pair of them were at it.

Sales manager at AL is looking into when mine may arrive (ordered dec 30th) and what they can do to assist me in keeping the order live as opposed to cancel it, will see how that goes but the above 'end of April' is positive....

But how would they know that? It seems pretty well established that BWs are not confirmed until about a week or two before. Other than that they jump around all over the place so it seems pretty ambitious for them to commit to end of April?!

Fingers crossed for you that they are right.

Strange thing is about all this is you would think the ordering system is the same as vw uses...but you dont seem to get build wks until last minute right...well speaking to my vw dealer he explained that my GTI order which has BW 02.03.14 he says that you get a bw appox 2 wks after ordering which I did and shows on the online tracker. He couldn't understand why they could not give build weeks even if uts a few mnths done road etc..

He's promised an update in mid-March to advise me further.

I wonder what they are up 2? Did he say why?

Think I may put a call into skoda tomorrow. I feel guilty hassling the dealer when its clearly not their issue

To my mind it can only be the rearangements at the factory causing this dates issue.

Haha indeed the wife wasnt impressed that my present was considerably bigger and more expensive than hers!

What six lashing eyelets, three nets and a 12v outlet in the boot and she wasn't impressed pipsyp, your wife has no imagination !

If I hear mine was pulled and it's been delayed and not brought forward I'll be cancelling. 5 months was a long enough wait to agree to at the start. Any longer and I will be finding another car which is a shame as it would have been my first Skoda.

One now wonders how carefully they will be put together in a bid to catch up ...... or maybe its just my paranoia.

Seconded!  I checked yesterday and still no dates on the system.  The customers service person was very nice but could offer no clue as to what was going on.

I had the same before I cancelled.

 

SUK had given me provisional BW21 but the dealer said they had never been informed of this and it wasn;t on their system, they checked yesterday with sales support and the upshot was no date, no idea when there would be a date, rumour of a factory re-org but no idea when, how long it would take or what the outcome would be.........they were pretty much in despair at the lack of info coming to the dealer network, such a shame as they really could have capitalised on this if they'd (Skoda generally not the delaers) managed it better (or at all).
