I bought this 2001 Y-reg 8v Fabia last December, basically to practice my driving so that I could pass my test. It saw me through the test, and continues running quite nicely. I have been pleasantly surprised by this car. It had 91600 miles on the engine when I bought it but it drives well and the fuel consumption is surprisingly decent for an 8v (it averages about 38 miles to the gallon under city driving conditions and about 40-42 on the motorway at ~60 mph). I have driven the car about 1500 miles, got it serviced once (it was due around the time I bought it), and so far, have had no complaints.

 

Once I have acquired some more practice, say for about a year or two, I intend to buy a newer Fabia (1.9 TDI) or an Octavia.
