Since changing my oil using Shell Helix Ultra 5w40 I have noticed hardly anything being used! Seems good at the moment but as with most things I will not get my hopes up.

The Vw group cars need to look at the cheap piston rings liners or what ever they now use, never used to be a problem no oil between services.

It is just another cash cow to buy their oil and fob you off that it is normal pratice. When people are signing on the dotted line for a new vehicle, you should be asking why

it is normal pratice for Vw group cars and not the japanese conterparts. As i see it audi seem to be doing something from all the bad press, skoda will be the last even thou

they are are the same engines to an extent exept the larger ones. These vehicles cost a lot of hard earned cash skodas audi etc are great cars no doubt but i would not

buy another till oil consumption is sorted even if i were a millionaire.

I know this sounds daft but can i take my Polo to a Skoda garage instead as the one near me has a better rep that the VW garage 2 minutes down the road.

I checked the oil and it is starting to move again...:(
