Polo GT TDi RR results GTB1756VK (not quite a Fabia but same Chassis)

Featured Replies

Well i know its not quite a Fabia but its shares the same Chassis (looks more stealth i reckon)

Anyhow some of you know already i have a Xman GTB1756VK Turbo kit and having it Mapped by the the top guy that is Faboka off here

Well finally the day came where i could get the car on the RR after lots of issues with running (faulty Cam Position Sensor that Vagcom didn't recognise)

This was done at http://autotronixdevelopments.co.uk/ while the wife was having her MX5 mapped

The results are as below:

254bhp & 369ft-lb on high boost 2.1 bar

242bhp and 350ft-lb in low boost 1.85bar

On the road you can feel the difference between high & low even though the results seem to suggest otherwise

Faboka spent a lot of time with the mapping (30 maps in total) as my engine is consuming its air extremely well, this maybe be down to the difference inlet and turbo feed setup i run & maybe also larger downpipe than the standard Miltek (i'll let Faboka comment here if he so wishes)

very pleased with the whole setup car drives superb and certainly picks its feet up

If anyone is considering the GTB1756vk turbo setup do it without a doubt, as an everyday useable car this is by far the best setup you can run without sacrificing lag and drivability, this in turn is backed up by the superb skills of Faboka

anyhow here's the Graph & you tube vid of High Boost Run (have since uploaded a less smokey map lol)

And RR Run (smoke included lol)

Looks good. :)

Edit: until I watched the video and saw the smoke.

Good results!

I did have some major power envy there...until I saw the smoke!

Impressive result!

Lol! It's not as bad now honest on the other map Faboka sent me

The smoke ain't as bad as my old map I had on my Hybrid?

Nice figures!

I couldn't get the video to work on my phone :(

I've come to the conclusion smoke is part and parcel of a tuned derv :(

Good results :)

Virtually the same as mine on same turbo.

whats the score with 'measured' and 'corrected' power?

I've come to the conclusion smoke is part and parcel of a tuned derv :(

That's what I used to think, yet I've chased a couple of mk1 Fabias making around 200bhp round a track and they were very clean.

Charlie's (Dark Hero) car really surprised me.  Never saw it puff and I was pretty close...

Yes, less power, but tuned cars and clearly very well mapped.

Completely changed my opinion.

I've come to the conclusion smoke is part and parcel of a tuned derv :(

As above, not needed. I run over 200 bhp and my brother commented only last week how little smoke my car produced as he followed me.

Hope for me yet then as I want my hybrid mapped with no smoke. Yet my current Jabbasport custom map is pretty smokey, it makes the back of the car filthy after a while lol.

Great results with the new turbo silky.

Just out of interest what was your hybrid making ? And what spec?

Looks good. :)

not sure if the link will work but, you know what they say about no smoke :D

Had the fortune/ misfortune of being lapped by Charlie and I concurr, his Fabia runs very very clean. Not naming names but compare his to a few others.

Bloke needs some ink in his printer

I don't like the smoke either but silky likes it so customer wins :)

The 3rd video you sent me of the last map was no where as bad but only! made 240 corrected BHP. Around 230bhp will be good for smoke free.

Happy working with you mate. And yes your setup does seem to such in much more air than other gtb1756vk's I've mapped. I personally think it's down to the miltek downpipe as I can't see it being the intake pipework size. But can't be sure.

Edited by faboka vrs

Good to achieve anything around 240+ on that turbo.  It seems like it's not a million miles behind the 2260vk in most areas. :)

Honestly the smoke isn't half as bad now on its current map

I am pushing the limits of the GTB1756vk and the injectors and Faboka adjusted it to put a lot of fuel in cause I felt it made the engine rev better + I wanted to see the difference between the maps

I now have a different map to that video on the car but it lost some bhp in the process but does run cleaner/smoother so in the real world I'm not going to notice tbh I'll get that video uploaded tomorrow

If I was to run it at low boost setting there is hardly any smoke, but who wants low boost all the time lol!!!

The smoke you either like it or hate it still managed 52mpg on run home from Sheffield to Cumbria so can't be that bad :)

Mine is often bad on the dyno, but OK on the open road.   Looking forward to getting my 2.7 bar map loaded on to my car to see what a truly high boost map can do for me :D

Show off lol

Agreed think it's the air flow it disperses quicker than when on a RR

2.7bar! That some boost

Here's the last video with a lot less smoke

I have seen a lot worse believe it or not!

You've got to remember a dyno run is done at low revs and a high gear so will always appear a little more smokey than in real world condition.

Unless you are dirivng my smoke machine

Any pics of the intake setup? Always going to be a bit of smoke on a dyno because there's no air pushing it into the atmosphere unlike on an open road
