Admiral Multicar is the way forward!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm sure everyone's aware of it already, but (for me at least) Admiral MultiCar is incredibly good on pricing, and includes foreign use, legal cover up to £100k, and a courtesy car.

A brief rundown of the home situation:

2010 Octavia vRS TDi estate (15k a year mileage)

Drivers:

Main: 52 year old male, middle management, 16+ years NCB.

Named: 50 year old female, administrator, 16+ years NCB.

Both taking out guaranteed No Claims protection. £250 voluntary excess. £156 fully comprehensive.

2010 A3 2.0 TDI 140 Sportback Sport (6k a year mileage)

Drivers:

Main: 50 year old female, administrator, 16+ years NCB.

Named: 52 year old male, middle management, 16+ years NCB.

Both taking out guaranteed No Claims protection. £250 voluntary excess. £145 fully comprehensive.

2014 Octavia vRS TSI estate (6k a year mileage)

Drivers:

Main: (Me) 20 year old male, sales exec/parts management, 1 year NCB (got 3 years NCBon a second policy for a second car)

Named: 50 year old female, administrator, 16+ years NCB.

Named: 52 year old male, middle management, 16+ years NCB.

Not allowed protected NCB. £250 voluntary excess. £503 fully comprehensive.

I think that's rather good, given that the previous insurers were Aviva, who didn't offer a courtesy car, legal cover, or foreign use unless you paid extra, and wanted £570 just to renew the 2010 Octy and A3. They wouldn't even insure me in my new car.

£503 for a 20 year old chap, in what is a relatively quick car, with a pretty low excess, seems very good to me :)

uh huh.

Wait till next year.

As we speak Admiral are already working out the best way

to pull your pants down and poke you in the eye when your renewal

is due. New customers are subsidised by faithful ones ;)

I've no doubt they'll bend me over and do terrible things to me next year :P

did exactly the same to me 09 vrs 04 fabia 1.2 second year £300 more than if i was a new customer . i said i was happy to pay the new customer price . he replied new customers only . my reply was new customer price or i will cancel both policies . he said no so whilst still on the phone he cancelled both policies instead of getting about £400 pounds for his company

ALWAYS  ALWAYS  ALWAYS SHOP AROUND   :wall:  :@

I'm with them, so will wait and see what happens at re-newel time in July.

Just rung them to ask if young Ree is allowed to drive my car as his docs aren't transferring via email.....NO was the answer. Got to be 25, even though he's allowed by law to drive any number of passengers he can squeeze onto a double decker bus or a coach across Europe! :wall:

One rule applies to everyone,. No room for manoveur it seems.

He's coming with me to Le Mans in June, and would like him to be able to do some driving if needs be.

£25 extra will sort it for the week apparently.

Equates to a most unreasonable £1300 for the year.

Rip off Britain...again.

New customer price was it?

yup !

I'm currently window shopping for renewal on my Del Sol.  It's turning out to be a bit of a baptism of fire as it's an import (never again!) and is listed as being a manual. it isn't, it's an automatic, and so far as I can tell, has never been a manual.

Anyhoos, having had the RAC give me the best quote...and then change their mind  :@  after I'd accepted their quote, Admiral are currently well in the running.   I won't be going down the multi-car with the Rex, but it looks quite likely that I will when the Superb is up for renewal as they've already go my wife's Mazda 3 having undercut everyone else quite significantly.

Gaz

Just got the Octy Mk3 VRS 2.0 (£362), Fabia Monte Carlo 1.2 (£462) and Jeep Cherokee 4.7 Auto (£623) - Business class on all.

Am just fishing at the moment, so will change some of those to SDP/SDP+Commute.  SWMBO has 0 NCB (accident at 2 yrs 10 months of NCB) :(  but she will need business on the Fabia.

Switch between Admiral and Sky multicar - and I'm saving a fortune each year.

Checked with Sky - no way can they match £623 for the Jeep - £1060 was the best they could do.

I insured our cars separately with Aviva this year.

Saving over 400 quid on our renewal with Admiral despite

our customer loyalty with them for some 6 years.

And every year, we had to ring them and haggle our renewal

price down based on 'new custom' quotes we were getting

via confused.com actually from themselves.

Just got sick of having to do it each year

and repeatedly being taken for a mug.

F*** Admiral :finger:

Get ready to have to do exactly the same with Aviva next year. They all do it.

Dont get me started on Admiral! In January the quoted me on a BMW 530D Msport and came out cheapest so I travelled down to London to get it and when I was about half hour away I phoned up to activate the quote only to be told they couldnt insure me on the vehicle due to my age and after spending an hour on the phone arguing why they wouldnt do it they decided to cancel my entire policy due to me being "aggressive"

2 days later I recieved a call offering £250 compensation and they would reinstate my policy.

Ramping up the renewal price isn't unique to Admiral, they all do it.

I actually don't mind as it catches the lazy and stupid which then funds my renewal discount after a 10 minute internet shop-around.

I know this isnt Admiral, but......

..........Just renewed with AVIVA MULTICAR again and managed to get a considerable reduction on the renewal quote. AGAIN!!

All I asked for was a cheaper quote over the phone and it was instantly cheaper by a huge amount!!

Very Happy!!

Just hope you never have to claim. And not just for the obvious reason.

Why?

Re Breakdown Cover. I have Insurance Policies with Admiral Multi Car. An EV and i have Platinum Breakdown Cover. A Petrol Auto with just Gold Cover because a Bank account covers it with the RAC. So i insured my Diesel Auto but it counts under Van Insurance. I added it online, good price. I thought i best call and get Van Breakdown Cover. So while waiting for them opening i tried RAC, AA & Green flag for quotes. RAC National UK Cover £100. AA £130 & that is who Admiral Breakdown have. Green Flag said they are 50% less than the big 2. They were £120. Got Admiral this Morning, National Cover UK starting next week. £30.64 & that is with the AA & same T&C,s as AA that quoted £130 online.
