That member has only posted 20 times in the last 9 years.

He last visited Briskoda over 3 years ago.

A salute your optimism, but don't hold your breath waiting for an answer from him.

That said, if you have a similar problem, do start a new thread about it, hopefully someone on here will be able to help.

Probably not maacushla, though.

Hehe... well I miss him. But maybe he'll get a notification email which will bring him back to the briskoda realm.

Well, I'll report back that it was the spark plug. Possibly caused by a valve gasket allowing oil to seep in.

I did a obd scan which showed a misfire on cylinder 2. Swapped coils around, made no difference. Which then pointed to the spark plug. 👍

^^^ Good stuff.

The OP was about a diesel so an engine without spark plugs.

Oops. Good eyes, Toot!

I wonder if that gives the diesel one less thing to go wrong?

Anyway, apologies for the thread resurrection! ...although legend has it that the OP is still searching for an answer to his shuddering ... I wish him all the best, wherever he is.

Well they do not have spark plugs, but then there are Glow Plugs, Injectors, fuel filters & newer both DPF,s & SCR.

So servicing and maintenance and the possibility of issues with a diesel are pretty much of a sameness. Then the only too common water pump issues.
