Shuddering whilst sitting and hard accelerating

Featured Replies

Hi I've not long bought a 2006 fabia vrs which has been remapped supposedly to 170bhp (no proof but feels faster than a usual pd130). When sitting still with the engine on for a few minutes the car shudders for a few seconds then stops then starts shuddering again. I've looked it up and it sounds like it could be the dual mass flywheel on the way out as of what I've read on the forum but I've also just realised when going into 6th gear and accelerating quite harshly it shudders again. Just wanted to know if anyone thinks this will be the same problem. Cheers

Check to see if it has EGR delete, this can cause it.

As sep said,  I had the same as you and happened to be changing the dmf and clutch at the time so I know it was not that..  It was the EGR on mine causing the Judder etc  except mine did the judder in the first few gears.

The EGR valve seems in tact. Was hoping to find it blanked off with egr delete. Could it still be the egr valve or do you think that is out of the question?

Less likely, looking like it might be the DMF on it's way out, if you can live with it or drive round it then you can put it off as long as the clutch is ok.

Clutch seems fine! Just wanted to know the source of the problem incase it packed in on me. Will it eventually wear out the clutch or something? I'm not really clued up on this

Nah, it'll be fine, it might get noisier though.
