Knocking noise and shuddering

Featured Replies

I have a 2014 octavia

Make SKODA
Model OCTAVIA
Description COM ELEGANCE 2.0 TDI 150HP 4DR Euro 5
Engine Capacity 1968

When the engine is cold the car will shudder a little for the first 500 meters. Once it heats up it is fine and no shuddering. Also, during this first 500 meters I can often get a knocking noise from the engine - about 3 knocks in quick succession and then no more after that.

Any ideas? It has just been serviced. Also really hard for the mechanic to experience this as by the time the car gets to garage it has heated up!

Maybe a video could help us help you.

There is a common issue with vacuum oil pump but I need to hear yours to compare it...

sounds like my 67 plate

update from skoda,, they couldnt find anything wrong no spluttering or shuddering even a knocking noise, but what ive noticed my self ,since the weather temp is now more milder the spluttering has stopped and running they way it should i dont know if it will return in the winter ill wait and see then ill know for sure is a winter temp sensor or somthing ,

for the damp on both struts they said that when the car is being built they put a solution on the struts because is may be lying in a production yard waiting a new owner for a while ,,

so that was my out come from skoda ,,

hope this info comes in handy for someone else in future
