Obviously being one of a handful of new drivers that get to own a brand new car

isn't an exclusive enough social group for you that you had to do that to it as well. 

I'm happy you like them Jay and the stickers too but I have to say what a

shame to do that to such a new car. You say it looks 'mad' I might use a different

word. You can probably expect a bit more attention from the fuzz

driving around in Liberaces snuff box, especially if it's lit up like

a submarine that's under attack.

I also have to say that cheap chinese made electrical components the likes

of which ebay is flooded with are about as reliable and safe as swimming with

sharks at the wrong time of the month. 

I hope you have fire cover and have notified your insurer of the changes.

For one if you havent read any of my posts before, the stickers arnt just because im young. They show the model of the car, and they are not to over the top.

I have never had any attention off of any police in all of the six months i have been driving.

I have also had a few messages off of people saying that they want something similar to what i have had done, and they are middle age, its not just a teenage thing!

Also, most of the parts (LEDs) are made in Britain. And they can not be turnt on whilst driving.

i havent done these modifications just to be stupid, i have done them because i wanted the experience of doing it and there is no reason why i cant, it is my car.. and i do what i wish with it. And then i post it on here to see what people think, and most of the feedback is good.

I dont see any reason how i have ruined it, in my opinion i havent ruined anything.

Jay, very much an individual thing.

I've done Puddle lights in the door mirrors, that come on with interior lights.

Also done boot strip lights, very useful in the dark.

 

Just make sure that when the time comes to move your car on, you can remove them without leaving any damage.

Otherwise you might loose out on resale price.

 

We were all young once and then got older...but most of us never grow up. That to me is good.

But since you are asking. I thought the stickers were tacky and I don't mean how well they stick. And I thought they spoiled the

(There's no accounting for taste, middle aged people can lack it too.  But they are probably trying to not discourage you, and to some

( Aaaah the united kindom, renowned as a world leading hotbed of led manufacture.

Just because they were uk sellers it doesn't mean they were manufactured here. 

If as you state they are wired into the sidelughts then I don't see how it's impossible to switch them 

on while driving, surely all you have to do is flick your expertly installed switch and suddenly you'll

have middle aged business menn tapping on the window asking if you offer services.

if not to spark discussion? I didn't realise there was a Fabia 2 forum regulation that stated

Gary, have you not heard the Fabia Mk2 Section anthem?

 

We love seeing all modifications to Skodas,  

and there have been some Cosmetic Marmites in their time,

the likes of JPS Black & Golds

and White Estates with Monster Stickers to name a couple.

I would have thought that subtle, tasteful enhancements such as these would be exactly what the Monte Carlo was crying out for

i love to see each and every mod, whether i like them or not, as it helps me decide if id like one without taking the plunge first

being old and tight i cant waste money like these young uns so keep up the good work, more mods the merrier imho

I'm tempted for some puddle lights myself. I think stick to discreetly placed white led's though.

Im just not sure iv got the balls the start pulling my 13 plate car to bits and cutting pieces up haha.

i didnt get a kicking, because if i did i wouldnt have gad gone on and had them done.

Considering i go down to car meets every week where the cops are there all night pulling people over and i havent been pulled over once. I get seen by the police all the time and i have never been pulled.

So what if i have stripped "my" car, this is no rule in this world that says i cant, or shouldnt. Its a new car which means everything will go back how it should, and it has.

What i wish to do with my car i will do, there is no reason why i cant.

I accept you dont like what i have done, but i dont really care.

This is where the light is located-

 

i then brought the wire up and through the bottom rubber, made a hole. 

 

looped it round the wires already there-

 

Went through the other end here (of the door)-

 

brought out of the door here, and into the car through the existing rubber again just made a small tight hole-

 

Came into the car next to the bonnet release-

 

Fed up through the side of the glovebox-

 

Up the pillar- 

 

Along the top- 

 

and then into the wires- in which i soldered it onto the actual board of the interior light- 

WOW headlining and all out Jay, not to everyones taste but fair play to ya for giving it a go. Fek when i was 17 or 18 with my first car (Mk1 fiesta) 70.000 miles on the clock when i got it i done some things to it that i thought was "cool" but when i look back now my toes curl with embarrassment but at the time i thought i was Mr cool balls with my orange like coloured fiesta.

 

My god Jay, you're braver than I am! Not referring to the lights just the work you have put in, hats off to you! I don't know if I would have the balls to cut a hole where you have in the door for the pudle light. And, I can't solder for all the tea in china, it's a skill I just don't have so I end up splicing the wires I'm tapping.

I've had trouble getting the trim away from the bonnet release catch to get out to the door like you have, the drivers side I have done the exact same as you but just can't see how to release the trim on the other side. Do you have any tips on how to remove the trim around the bonnet release?

Rise above the negative comments Jay, read them, and move on, don't even justify yourself. It's your car, new or old do what you want. You're always going to get negative feedback, some a little more personal than others.

have you got a trim piece remover tool? i bought a set off ebay, best things ever! and if i remember rightly, there are a couple of screws securing it in place. the bonnet release handle comes off with a little pull. then i think there is a screw behind that, i can't remember. 

 

i put them there so they would shine down nice and big, plus as it is indented they have no chance on hitting the bottom of the seal when closing. 

 

and yeah soldering is hard, but i find it easy. I've soldered and heat shrunk all the wires, so its all done properly. just very time consuming. 

 

ill have a look at my bonnet release part in a minute to remind myself.

 

but if you haven't got these, i would really recommend ordering a set-
