Fabia PD150 hybrid turbo

Featured Replies

With all the other parts of my hybrid setup now sold, I have just the turbo left. I'm currently still running the turbo on the car, but will be removed if I find a suitable turbo in the meantime. Hence anyone can see the car running if required.

Garrett PD150 Hybrid turbo, 18k miles - £650, or £550 with an exchange for a standard BLT or ASZ turbo my way as well. Receipt for £1100 with mileage it was fitted on.

The turbo was purchased directly from Garrett, who apparently had to manufacture it because there wasn't any left on the shelf at the time! Ant at AP Automotive supplied and fitted the setup. It has covered approximately 19k miles since installation. I always warm the car up properly before using it at full throttle, and it's always left to idle after a run. Engine oil has been changed frequently with Quantum.

I obviously have no pictures of the turbo because it's on the car still. However, there's a video of my car on AP Automotive's website, from when it had the conversion done. http://www.apautomotive.com/

I have a receipt from AP Automotive which includes the turbo at approximately £1100 for the part alone, and confirms the mileage.

The car is currently mapped to 220bhp and over 300ft/lbs. This has been proven on CC Tuning's dyno - which has been known to break some hearts! AP and Shark have done a fantastic job of the mapping, and have produced excellent power and torque curves to make the car very driveable, as can be seen in the graph below.

The car is my daily commute, so is pootled around in the majority of the time so that I achieve decent MPG. It should also be noted that I've only had the car running at 220bhp since mid-January - prior to that it was around 200bhp. So it has been running at a fraction of its full potential for most of its life.

I would require a standard BLT or ASZ turbo in exchange for mine. This would need to be in very good condition with no noises and as low mileage as possible. If I find a suitable replacement in the meantime then the turbo will be for sale on its own.

I would prefer a BLT turbo as it will allow me to put the car completely back to standard, but I'm willing to put a stage 1 map on the car with the EGR delete and run an ASZ.

Guys on the forum have met me and the car, and I'm sure can confirm that I am a genuine seller and have not thrashed the car to within an inch!

If required, I could potentially carry out a turbo swap on a drive-in, drive-out basis for anyone interested. Mapping would have to be the choice of the buyer though, but I would wholeheartedly recommend Ant at AP. If anyone wants to be taken in the car before hand, or otherwise have a look, then I am open to that as I have nothing to hide!

Reason for sale is that I feel it's time to move on, and I have my heart set on a turbo petrol motor - hence putting back to standard before selling.

I can give you £650 for this on Thursday as I don't have an exchange turbo to send, will that include postage?

Hi Kenny.

Postage will be extra, as it's a rather large and heavy item to say the least!

Are you in desperate need for it asap? As I need to source and then fit a standard PD130 first!!

If you're not after it asap then I'll happily hold it for you with a small deposit....

I'll just keep an eye on the thread until you get a replacement turbo.

Not to me anyway.

This been sold now i'm assuming?

If your genuinely interested I'll text Alex?

I'm definitely looking at getting a bigger turbo so I am interested, currently just got the standard one in mine (which could be exchanged) and want to try get my car to 200ish bhp.

Cheers

Apologies guys - not been on here in ages due to a huge pile of marking for work that's taken a month to get through!!

Kenny, I still haven't found a reasonably priced turbo - although I haven't had much chance to search properly. I'm off for 7 weeks after tomorrow, so I will pick up the search now, as I really need it off the car and sold.

battwell, is your car currently mapped? Mileage? ASZ or BLT?

Thanks all! :)
