Anyone know what............

Featured Replies

In an idle moment I was looking at my Citigo key and noticed a small "Reset"???? pin under the actual silver key part.

Now, being a typical male, I can't be arsed to read the Owners manual or troll through this forum to see if any other bod has asked the same question.

Is it a reset or just a release button to change the battery.?

BTW out of curiosity I popped into my local Timpsons, the high street key/cobbler, and a new key would be £ 140 ???

For a 3 button remote it only cost as below and £28.00 to code it to the car. (prices as of Mar 13)

That pin holds the key together, see the video below. I found this out after on of my dogs had a good chew on one of my keys and wrecked the shell - fortunately I was able to swap out the metal key part and internals which were undamaged.

Does this imply you can get replacement shells for the key? Was quite suprised by the low quality of the plastic - one drop and the two halves are no longer flush, and it's quite dented.

The Citigo key is quite "tacky" compared to my Octavia keys before.

The shells are not technically replaceable on the newer keys. I got given some used keys that were damaged and was able to make something good from the bits. These keys are a lot cheaper to replace than the old 2 part ones. However the coding drives the cost up. The citigo key is identical to the Fabia, Roomster, Rapid and probably others.
