depends on the deck. If the asimuth of the tape head is out of alignment with the tap you will get crap quality and alot of hiss.

I think the skoda grundig radio cassettes also have dolby 'b' for car cassette radios. Messes with the sounds bit does help a bit. That was the issue with my hard wired fix, originally it wss going though the dolby b bit so it would have way too much bass and not enough treble
