Mk1 Fabia 1.8T

does the 1.2 have an exhaust at the front or rear of the engine bay? if its on the front you will definately need to change it, this is because the subframe has an arch in it to clear the exhaust pipe (as it needs to travel under the sump then under the subframe), where as those such as the 1.4 8V with the exhaust on the rear of the engine bay (IIRC the 1.8T is like this) the down pipe travels inbetween the subframe and the bulk head.

the RARB bolts onto the rear suspension strut mountings so if you fit the Ibiza FR rear beam it the RARB will fit.

Would an Ibiza front subframe fit?

so let me get this straight you need:

Rear beam

Rear discs + bits + rear brake lines

1.8T, aux bits such as intake manifold and turbo

Gearbox, drive shafts

Full engine loom possibly more

clocks?

ECU

Exhaust manifold and down pipe

Sub frame

Ibiza subframe *should fit*, on my 1.4 16V i bent the sub frame (long story) so i bought one from a 2001 1.4 polo and it fitted.

Might need to buy a car of your own to swap it out of, such as a certain fox who bought a 1.8T Polo GTI ;)

There's another GTI on copart and an Ibiza so I might put a bid or two in!

go for it!

After you summed up the bits I need it kind of made sense that I need a donor and I can build a Polo 1.2 out of it ;)

Just buy the Polo from BossFox when he has another 'funny turn'.

Hmm very true I'll just wait ;)

Exhaust definitely goes over the sub frame and 3" will just squeeze through ;)and a polo or Ibiza is alot easier than messing around with things like engine mount brackets etc

So your 1.2 Subframe jack will be no good.

I think the 2.0 8V has the subframe you need.... as well as rear discs, even more of a reason to get one!

Or the 1.4 16v

Or the 1.4 16v

Nope!

the 16V subframe has the exhaust under it, not above it! so the 2.0L would be best of both worlds with the subframe and rear brakes!

But has drums

I'll have a spare sub frame from a 1.4 MPI when I get on with it :P No rear beam for you though :(
