Just a quick question (I've done a search so hopefully this hasn't been covered already).

 

The front ABS sensor on my 1.6 Felicia GLXi has failed, the clip holding the wire in place broke and the wire wore through when it rubbed against the inside edge of the wheel.

 

The ABS light has come on, as you might expect, but so has the brake warning light. Is it normal for both of them to come on when the ABS fails or do I actually have two problems?

The abs fault is a seperate issue, the hand brake light is probably the switch at the bottom of the lever not working properly.

Thanks for the reply but I might not have explained properly.

 

I mean the brake warning light (!), not the handbrake light (P).

according to wiring diagram of the dashboard, there are two 1N4005 diodes that should prevent both alert lights to come on when only one event is present.

I do believe it does come on with the abs as I broke a slxi with abs and when I unpluged a sensor it came on but I would still check brake fluid lever tho just on the safe side
