That's a blast from the past! Friend of mine (first one to get his own car) had a Mk3 Fiesta, must have been pretty much the same colour and year roughly as well. First car I drove was my mum's Mk2 Fiesta, 88 I think?

Great PCB fix by the way.

Spot lights temp fitted tonight, then removed again Ive drilled all the holes, i have my relay plate fitted to the engine bay along with the relays. Tonight ive been making the wiring loom coating it all in DR25 Heat-Shrink which is pretty much "everything proof" good for an engine bay exposed to the elements.

Pics to follow.

I ran out of the heatshrink so ill need to get some more before i can complete it, in the mean time ill leave them off the car.

With all of these lights and stickers i should be running about 400bhp, so you could say things are getting pretty serious!

unfortunately not! :( was taken away to a museum a few years back!

Aw :(

One of my neighbours has a mk3 - it's a 1.1 popular iirc - goes well though, faster than my fabia vRS Tdi...

But then his 5 door mk6 fiesta beats most things...

Today i sorted another annoying feature.

The interior fan/blower had no filter on it, they never did from factory. because of this you get small bits of debris flying in from the plenum underneath the windscreen.

Removed the ECU and other parts including the fan cover/grill and was left this:

So thing was i didnt know what to use as a filter, and my mum had just thrown out aload of clothes, including a few pairs of tight so she got hold of them and dropped them off for me. that plus silicon sealant =

because of the grill shape i couldnt simply put them over the end and cable tie them in place.so the sealant came out.

put it back in the car, still had little bits flying out, it turned out i hadnt fitted it properly, (some slots were blocking fitment) pulled some bits off wiggled it around and got it to fit.

Presto! no longer have bits blwoing through the vents at 70mph on the motorway! :D

We got that on ours until an old air filter from our MGB was adapted

but would involve spending money ;)

I bought the sealant for a car i sold over a year ago, and the tights were for free :P

Who's tights Taylor?      Great mod and I am sure it will work well.

We use those up here in Liverpool to commit Robberies  ;)

You went with chris's idea to use tights :D

Works well though

by chance do you have any bucket seats going? The seat in the fiesta is killing my back on long journies

I haven't got any myself but I will ask the rally lads for you.

So here is a list of the current faults with this car:

2nd Gear Syncro is knackered, have to double de-clutch and rev match to get it to go in smoothly (or just grind it)

Seats are uncomfortable

Surface Rust

After its been raining, the central locking has a mind of its own.

bit more Rust

Outer Near side CV boot is split, replacement parts on order.

Seats are REALLY Uncomfortable.

Budget ditch finder tyres which are worryingly bad in the rain.

But because of that its a bit of a challenge to push the car.

It has central locking :o
