3ube4y3y.jpgypudy2yh.jpg Only issues I have now are the bonnet doesn't sit flush due to its dent and now the bonnet doesn't close without added pressure, hopefully when the dents been pulled out it'll look tidier

Once its pulled (properly) it will be fine :)

It looks better than Poor UKaskew's did -

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/316869-potential-citigo-issues/

after its "repair" job....

I looked through that thread briefly, do we know if the inner frame itself was bent causing it to not sit flush?

Should be ok after the bonnet :)

Definitely, no way to be treated by a supposed professional garage

Thanks for posting all the photos it's been very interesting And when it's painted and the bonnet pulled out it will look very good and probably cost about half the dealer quote .

So if you want to build a multi-coloured version. I can come round with a 4lb club hammer and adjust a few more panels ready for you to enjoy replacing them  :D

Ehm, why didn´t you get the new wing sprayed before mounting? That whould have given you a much better result.

I know I didn't, but I just wanted it on, I'd rather have a odd panel then a dented one on, it should be resprayed in the next 2 weeks

Now that you know exactly what to do (basically you're almost an expert!) you can unbolt the wing again and have it properly sprayed inside and out?

  • Author

Maybe but it was a absolute pain to do and I'll speak to some garages soon and see what there process is on respray and perhaps give a hand with it to maybe save more money..

May go overboard when it comes to the final repair stage and get the wheel refurbed from some bad curbing and a couple of panels smoothed back out

Then you can do my dent :)

I won't be doing it myself  but in other goodish news the panel is due for a respray next Tuesday my only issue is he's asked for the panel to be removed and brought up on its on, oh what fun it shall be

Change of plans for the respray, due to work issues it'll be Wednesday, knowing my luck I'll have to change it again

Once you've done all that and (very, very carefully!!) refitted it, you'll see that it will have been all very worthwhile.  There will be no need to mask any of your car and there will be absolutely no nasty overspray.  Remember to touch up the bolts at the top of the wing beside the bonnet stay once you've completely finished adjusting everything.

Most of all, GOOD LUCK!!

Thank you :D I know that now the bolts have been tampered with there more likely to rust so I'll see what can be done about that

The bolts need to be body coloured to look original but please don't paint yours white like mine. :notme:

why not see if the garage doing your wing can give you a little of the left over paint in a small pot so you can touch up the bolts?

that way good match and no cost :)
