  • If it was in our house, probably a cat...

  • All bulbs are there, not that they'll be used (apart from the indicator) I didn't realise until today it's brand new

  • Worked for VW with their Harlequin range . . . . .

worth asking,

worst case you ask, he say will charge, you say no thanks

Yep, And, if that's the case, yeah, a rattle can job.

I said Black, forgetting the bolts are colour matched - tornado red in your case :)

So if I'm still breathing tonight after work I'll be removing the panel so it can get resprayed tomorrow/Thursday :)

To add another problem to the car it turns out it was right to order a new wheel arch, it turns out to be more damaged than first thought, there's also a plastic piece which connects bumper to panel and well it's pretty much disintegrating as I type, I'll be off up to Westover tomorrow to speak with a technician

This is the piece of plastic I was on about in the previous post and well as you can see its definitely seen better days zy3e5ezu.jpg

Just a small setback , nearly there. :)

So the news is that I should have the panel back Friday and managed to order the plastic piece from the garage at a cost of £5.77, spoke to the chap who's respraying the panel and said he would charge £200 including bonnet repair which in turn has saved me £100 he would've charged for fitting

That seems good :)

All coming together now, headlight is in and working y7yreveh.jpg

I see that you also have LED indicator bulbs.  Very swish!

Will you take the whole car in to have to bonnet repaired/resprayed or just the bonnet itself?  Presumably it will be better to have it all done on the car so the shut lines are perfect.  Hopefully you'll impress on the repair man how important it is not to have overspray and filler dust in all the nooks and crannies.  Many, many years ago, I once remember taking my pride and joy (white Mk2 Escort RS 2000, with black cloth seats) in to a body shop to have something minor done (update the side decals to the latest version) and he managed to leave the doors open so the inside was covered in filler dust, not from my car but from others in his workshop. I really, really appreciated the way he took such great care of my car.

You've done really well so far Hyphons and I'm sure we're all looking forwards to seeing photos of your car fully restore dto its previous pristine condition soon.

Not sure what's gonna happen with the bumper, its got a fracture in it but don't fancy replacing the whole thing for something so minor, it sits a lot better now the bracket holding it to the panel has been replaced, with the bonnet it should hopefully be a easy job for the garage that resprayed the panel, again with the bumper I'm uncertain at this time but we'll see what happens

Been there too JimmyR very annoying indeed!!!

LED blubs Hypons how are you finding them? Do the DLR light up ok any issues as mine upgraded blubs have blown one side already (just under a year).

Did you get them off ebay?

Looks much better now......top effort!!

And I have just realised what you said, yes the whole car, if I removed the bonnet it'd still be off the road so be a bit of a waste of work IMO

Got them from hids direct, no issues at the moment apart from the interior indicater noise/light that goes super fast now, doesn't bother me much though but will get it sorted at some point the other issues is all the freebe air fresheners I have lying around from hids direct :giggle:
