New alloys or refurb? Got any pictures?

Featured Replies

£156 for those wheels was pretty sh1tty, but his description was woeful, didn't even have decent keywords in the title - such as 'Skoda' 'Superb' 'Themisto' some eBay'ers just don't have a clue. To get top dollar you need a long description of individual wheel condition and detailed pictures of damage - but I'm sure you know that already Ned. :-)

... and then 10% in eBay fees, and 5% in PayPal fees.

I think that's a great price for someone, Themistos always sell well on eBay, seemingly regardless of condition! Ned, have you decided on what you want next - is the car going up on bricks whilst you decide :-)

Hi, peanut,

If you can excuse my 3-minute Photoshop job, these are all possibilities:

Any thoughts, anyone?

1 and 3. 2 and 4 just don't seem to look right with the car.

Good shout.  Leon's got 19s, though, which might just exaggerate the effect.

GLWTS Ned

Have you had the obligatory eBay question yet: asking if you can deliver to Italy, or to a brother/cousin/uncle's flat in London?

Good choice

That was quick and efficient, enjoy the new wheels and tyres ;)

Now, you just not to decide on what ones for your winter set! ;)

Nah, I don't do this "winters" thing; never have.  I can scarcely remember a day in 30 years of driving when I wasn't able to get about, perhaps with a tiny bit of ice-skating here and there.

Good work Ned, I was watching them and saw they went very quickly. Themisto's are a popular wheel, but like you said before, quite vanilla. I wanted to stay as OE as possible so when for the Golus, from the new Octavia 3. Piccy attached.post-43603-0-34410200-1404244034_thumb.jpg

Looks cool!  Quite like the propellers of an aeroplane - SAAB should investigate these!

I have been toying with getting these when I get my new Superb estate at the end of the year like them a lot

Chaps,

Had a hitch with the R8 V10s (above) - 2 or 3 week delay but the buyer of my old rims can't wait that long.

I went for Plan B (and the ones I think I really wanted all along) - the GTi ones. I think they're absolutely stunning.

Paid £395 with free next-day delivery; arrived today.  Will be fitted next week, so I'll show more pictures then.  Took superbia's advice and got some Gtechniq G5 (bloody expensive) to seal and protect.  What about rim-protectors?  Anyone like the look of these, say in blue?   http://url.ie/tdpm

Note re. photos - that's the carpet in my "garage", not my living room.  The wife insisted I point that out.  :whew:

Sorry, that should have been "stevehg's advice" and it should have been C5, not G5.  Doh!

Not a fan of these, but possibly they may look better on the car

As long as you like them anyway, thats all that matters

Looking forward to the pics

Can't wait to see what they look like!

Do you need a rim protector, if you were to get a tyre with one built-in?

If you haven't sorted tyres yet, I seriously am amazed at the efficientgrip performance tyres. Also I noticed they are doing a £40 fuel voucher (Tesco) when buying 4 - camskill are participating. My local tyre guy unfortunately wasn't.

They look familiar ! :P
