Drying

That much cash?? it was only @£100 and having looked into the units that you can attach to a hose and other options it was massively more cost effective.

Plus I have pure drinking water if I want it and I can also clean the house windows with the same ease.

Working out what my time is worth I wouldn't go back.

May be worth pointing out that the water in south Gloucestershire is very hard, in fact on moving here years ago we couldn't understand why soap didn't work anymore and you could even sense resistance getting into a bath. lol

Thanks for the added detail on your situation - perhaps you want to share the link to the product you might recommend.

  • Apologies I didn't think you were serious Good luck with it God knows what the neighbours think....LOL But who cares..Mine think I'm barking!!

I don't think you are allowed to are you?

I have just read the guidelines and it seems you can but not excessively.

below is a link and price for the 150 gallon per day unit. (doesn't give that much clean water BTW)

but I bought the 100GPD unit which was £85

There sitte has just gone down so use the link below and then click on the 100 gpd 4 stage unit link on that page.

currently £101.88 including all fittings to connect to water mains.

I also bought from them a ballcock valve and an auto shut off valve which they kindly assembled before sending.

These additions allow the filter to be left on 24/7 and fill a water butt. (I have two giving 200 litres of stored water but in use it transpires that  I only need a quarter of that to rinse two cars.

(use normal water in jet washer before soap wash)

it is worth noting that the output from these systems is just a trickle so you need to store the clean water in advance, could be as simple as leaving it to fill a watering can.
