I just used octavia se as that is technically what it is, one of the comparison sites had the black edition listed. I can't remember which!

Yes please. We are still waiting.

Hi, I have ordered a white black edition but am thinking of changing the wheels when it arrives as not totally convinced. Any more photos that others have of this setup would be much appreciated to help me make up my mind.

Have already seen your photos saurabhdutt (nice photos by the way) and think the car looks good, just trying to decide if they are for me. Up close are they matt black or do they reflect the light much?

How long hve people waited for theirs?

I was in the Gloucester Skoda branch yesterday and they have a Black Estate in the showroom, managed to have a sit in it, looks great all in black, better than I thought, just wish the interior was a little sportier and you could add xenon's etc...

But if something happened to it("deity of your choice" forbid) and you had like-for-like replacement, you would only get an SE, right?

I had the same issue / worry back in 2007 when I got my Fabia vRS special edition and it wasn't on the insurance databases yet

Im not happy just putting SE as Wet Kipper states. We all know that many insurance companies will do all they can to avoid paying out! Hopefully the databases will be updated by the time I get my car. Actually spoke to Skoda insurance. They where much more expensive that other quotes so wont be going with them. They didnt have it on their database either stated it was still awaiting the thatcham report. So priced me on a L&K version with same engine spec.

There is cause and effect there - the L&K is a much more expensive car, so if you're comparing that quote against ones you've done for an SE, then that's hardly a fair like-for-like comparison now, is it?

I totally understand that. I choose that model as it was the only one that was 2.0 Diesel and 150bhp. value of the car was given as the price of the black edition. I doubt that the L&K quote would be over £20 a month more than the black edition with other providers. I could be wrong though.

Jeepers Creepers... how much are you being quoted for insurance (and where do you live)?  I keep forgetting that being an old(ish) fart and living in the arse end of the country means that I enjoy nice cheap car insurance. I'm looking at quotes of just over £25/month (£300/year) for a vRS  B) .  Which in itself seems expensive, 'cos I got quoted £350/year for an M135i when I was considering how much that would cost me.

That's cheap! 34, north wales, 5 years no claims

> 34

I'm not much older!

> north wales

<JOKE> Too close to Liverpool </JOKE> (Seriously, no offence meant to anyone)

> 5 years no claims

I only have 2, because I've had a company car for the last couple of years, so my private NCD has lapsed  :(

Cheers Mate,

The wheels are matt black and have no refeledtion. I thought of putting the silver grey gemini bit didnt like the look on white car.

Thanks for the info.

Just wondering.......did the dealer offer you the choice? Any additional cost for changing them?

The dealer did offer me any alloys (18" or under) if I dont like the alloys however when I saw the car I simplly loved it and we didnt have to go thorough that route.

That was the case when there was no picture of the car on the website or none of the UK dealer had seen the black edition and I ordered the car on 13th July without seeing the car in flesh.

I've ordered a black one today. I was originally told there were only white 2.0l still available but the salesman (my best mate) talked another dealer round to letting us have their slot. It's in build now so at least it's not been sat on a dock for weeks! 6 or 7 week wait now!

Great for getting your hands on the model you wanted. What engine did you go for?

Are you keeping thenturini alloys or getting them changed?
