My week 23 (MY 2015) build Yeti was subject to a recall notice (done today) where the servcie team had to check the front shock absorbers as apparently incorrect specification ones had be fitted to certain vehicles.

 

Lovely lady on servcie reception was pleased to tell me mine were OK but did not know whether it affected all, 4x4, 170 CR models or what..

 

Got a free wash too !

Don't quite understand how a car that hasn't been built yet has been recalled as you say My 2015,or am I misunderstanding?

Model year, not year of reg.

 

Model year starts middle of the year MY 15 starts june- july (can't remember which) 2014

Car manufacturers describe cars in model years (MY) and these normally run 4-6 months ahead of real life years. This means a late 2014 manufactured car will normally be MY2015. At some point late 2014 or early 2015 they will change to MY2015.5. And so on.

Some manufacturers change MY every Qtr so you would have 2014, 2014.25, 2014.5 and 2014.75 model years which would be released (for example) Sept 2013, Dec 2013, Mar 2014 and Jun 2014 respectively.

Of course exact MYs and dates vary manufacturer to manufacturer but you get the idea.

Car was booked in for a sat/nav issue which had corrected itself. 

 

I called yesterday to cancel visit and was told that car was subject of recall notice so could I please take it in as it was a suspension issue.

Model year change this year was week 23.  Cosmetic only.  New flat bottom steering wheel option and new hazard warning button graphic were the only "real" things the dealer and I could find in the documentation.

 

I mention it purely as it might have been a re-tooling event also, not to confuse.
