A cambelt and water pump etc from skoda is £459 including vat, fixed pricing.

Got mine done by an Audi master tech who's set up independently, for £269 all in using genuine parts.

I would just like to get the kit and have my mechanic fit although the £269 all in looks attractive - My mechanic mentioned buying the kit was circa £200 and the water pump on top was another £30.But it sounds like i should be able to get job done similarly to the £269 in Manchester area as against Lincoln - does anyone have contacts  with VAG experience able todo the belt in manchester area.

Not much response on here - very helpful . Skoda quoted me £135 for timing belt kit and £42 for water pump (recon) or £85 for new . Have now found VAG genuine parts supplier Timing belt Kit £65  recon water pump £28 exchange  2 pc clutch £135 and release bearing another £25 Oil filter £3.45  etc etc etc these prices do need Vat adding . Parts for 1.9tdi

Darkside offer a kit and pump for £170 for my PD105, wouldn't have thought it would be much different for other PDs. The engines I think are the same across the brands to, the BXE I have is also in the Passat too.

Is the timing belt the same? I thought I found a bargain kit for my old golf for £35, but the tensioner was manual instead of auto. Auto kit was £90.

Could be worth a call to Darkside, I'm pretty sure the £170 includes Vat.

Who is the supplier you found?

Trade parts specialists  owned by volkswagon so sure to be original vag parts .They do deal with public but mainly Garages i got trade prices through persuasion and a reasonably large order - over £300 and may add other brake parts etc to take it nr £500 inc vat

As said i feel job could be done quite a bit cheaper by using a competent mechanic and buying parts at good price - parts cost circa  £110 for genuine vag belt kit and pump Skoda say job takes 3 hours so most mechanics should manage in 4 hours approx so a charge of £100 seems fair so £220  . My mechanic is doing mine on Monday but also doing a full service and general check over and will easily complete same day and charge me £120 absolute max so Cam belt and full service circa £300.
