If you can find some go for some Cree ones, yes they are dearer but they are FAR brighter.

Should have bought one with xenon’s/LED DRL’s  :giggle:

Found these Cree ones on a German site, would these work without the need of fitting resistors?

I've also ordered some Osram Night Breakers as replacements for the headlights and want to replace the side/running lights.

Has anyone used these Osram W5W LED's to replace their side lights?

Those ones will throw up the bulb warning system icon unless you use resistors with them.

Do you have sidelights as well as DRL’s with halogen lights then?

For them to work without resistors look for CANBUS compatible bulbs.

Yes there both DLR and sidelights are halogen, I'll have a look for CANBUS models.

Do you know of any that don't? Or something similar to the Night Breakers but to replace side lights?

I suspect from this comment in your link ""We would recommend that you purchase the Philips CANbus warning canceller for LED lamps to solve this issue.""   that they should have something in their range.

I bought some off Ebay that said they were Canbus safe but weren't, but they were cheap, so now use them in the front interior lights instead. Can't be bothered to look for any more as I might be changing the car later this year.

You can get some brighter filament bulbs with a blue tinge that should do the job.

Can you give us a link please LGM?

I would of but I bought them off ebay and I cant view the item to post the link :(

someone else posted a link on briskoda which linked me to buy them, ill have a scan about now and try find it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191021801019 - they have gone up quite a bit, if I remember correctly I only paid £25 for them. Just make sure they are the correct bulbs (no idea if they are the same fitment type)

here the original link with a picture http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/233937-official-briskoda-fabia-ii-monte-carlo-register/page-4  (post 108)

I've chickened out over the CANBUS issues and ordered a set of these to go with the Osram Night Breaker Unlimited which will replace the dipped and high beam.

  • 1 month later...

If anyone (not as technically minded as those posting above) is interested in the technical side of the CANbus - LED lights - incandecent bulbs and how changing them over causes problems, etc. etc., then this link has some easy to follow info. on it Making LED Car Bulbs 'CAN-Bus Friendly' - LED Auto Lights | LEDchoice.eu
