Enabling HBA on MY15 Octavia

Featured Replies

During daytime running remember to turn off the Auto lights before using the screenwash or you'll empty your screenwash pretty quick.  Otherwise, I'm with Goldfinger, its a pretty good bit of kit.

Or disable the headlight washers via VCDS :|

Anybody succeeded with this on a MY16 VRS TSI?

That explains the cleaning marks on the headlight even though I'd not used the washers at night!

I wonder if the mk2FL also did that......hmmmmm

Yes, plenty have.

Who else amended the lux setting? I only ask as sometimes I catch up to a car at night and the lights don't dim straight away.

I did on my previous O3, didn't make a huge amount of difference TBH, but slightly more reactive.

Anyone fancy activating mine for some beer tokens?

If you fancy heading to the right side of the Pennines I'll do it :)

Just thought I'd add to this topic to avoid starting a new one...

Does HBA need to be enabled on my 2015 L&K (last of the MY15's). I could have sworn it came as standard, but I can't find how to turn it on!

Cheers.

If you have it, then it will be in the light settings. If it's there tick the box and with light switch set on auto push the "flasher/signal" stick foward.

At the bottom of the maxi dot it will confirm activation.

HBA has always been Standard on Elegance and L&K.

Go into Car>Settings>Lights and tick Light Assist

Cheers guys, will look tomorrow morning!

You just have to flick on the high beams once, and you'll see a high beam icon with an "a" to see that it's on.

This is while its in auto.

Is it just me that thinks this is a ****e feature as it restricts your ability to control the high beam?

Thanks both - switched it on this morning before my drive to work!

You can by pass it. But yes it's fairly pointless as it's sometimes slow to react.

I guess like auto lights just a bit of a lazy option

It works ok-ish..

Biggest problem imo is how the AFS focuses the beam sometimes. Hate it when it decides to light up the forest on the other side of the road while doing 90kmt.

Can it be some kind of software bug? Turning the lightswitch to dipped beams and back to auto gives a better and more foreward pointing beam.
