Jerky throttle in normal mode

Featured Replies

I find the throttle response so hesitant and jerky in normal mode with DSG gearbox, I use eco most of the time and sport occasionally.

Mechanic from my local dealer test drove and said it was absolutely normal for an Octavia.

Does anyone else have the same problem or have views on the problem? Maybe I should find another dealer.

Smooth in all modes, but a bit more hesitant in Eco due to the dumbed down throttle response.

Same for me as andyvee!

For a really smooth drive in a DSG, small/light throttle input is the key especially when setting off.

If it's fine in ECO mode it may be you are being slightly too heavy footed?

Also try not to make any throttle adjustments while it's mid gear change as that can make it feel slightly jerky.

I agree, even after a year of driving a DSG I still find occasionally that I am lifting off slightly with my right foot as the box changes rather than just keeping the throttle in the same position.

Floor it and the traction control takes care of any jerkyness, might be the tyres, not really sure but I feel nothing but endless shove.
