  • Motorola have confirmed v1/2 Moto G and X will get the update in time for Christmas. Samsung have surprisingly said that the S3 will get it, but not until early next year. S4 & 5 should have it

Factory image is finally out for the N4 - just need to decide whether to backup/full wipe/flash factory, or wait for the OTA update which will likely be posted up soon.

I only got 4.4.2 on Sunday too..unlocked Galaxy Note 3.

I updated my S4 mini last week to this version... one thing I have noticed is the much better battery life!! I now get 2 full days of normal usage (wifi, playing music...) compared to just over 1 day?

I just installed lollipop on my nexus 7 (2012)... I have always used encryption, anyway on reboot it prompted for password and told me it was successful, but my data was corrupt and needed to factory reset... aaaaargh

Downloaded it last night. There is no silent mode and they have deleted the Gallery and just use the Google Photos which is quite annoying as i had pictures of work stuff under a folder but in the update there doesn't seem to be an option for adding albums :(

The Photos app has an "on this device" section which should show you your other folders.

As for silent mode, it's still sort of there - you can set the notification bar to "None" which should disable all notifications but still allow alarms - I think! If it doesn't, then try Priority mode, but with all the priority interruptions switched off in the settings menu. I wish they hadn't removed it all from the long-press-power menu though...

Android convert here, Been an iPhone user for 7 years now, but finally blew my top with iMessage.  Bought an S4 mini a few weeks back as a tester, like it so swapped it for an S5 mini, feel like i wasted 7 years with the iPhone.

Got my lolly upgrade yesterday morning, it's fab! :) - You may groan :)

Actually, confused me to start with. Like the new first screen with additional swipe before unlock. Dislike faffing around making geometric shapes for the control keys when I'd just familiarised with the previous ones.

Stuff seems to still work. Am having the usual "WTF!" moments where the interface and control panel screens have changed. Will have to go online and look for articles about other new and useful stuff. Hope the tales of better battery life are true.

J.

Updated my nexus 7 yesterday. Not had chance to play yet though.

Updated my N7 already and it seems alright. Better test is when it's released for my HTC One m7, sounds like it should be here on friday for GPE devices!

N5 updated, and it's so much faster.

Just the N7 to go

Old Nexus 7 got it a couple of days ago.

Don't like.

I really don't like the new keyboard, not that I thought the old one was any good.

Lots more apps crashing than before particularly facebook.

Also I can no longer stream MP4s inside firefox, now I got to download everything first.

Lots of extra taps needed to get some apps to work. It's like the first one does nothing.

To open it I now need to swipe up then do the code, why what does that add.

Saving me pennies for a Win tab, at least I can make it do what it's told. Android get on me norks.

Well a couple of days with 5 on Nexus 10, so far it just seems different for the sake of it. Seems stable, apps work well enough, probably going to like it long term. Makes a Nexus 6 even more tempting.;-)

I never got the new material design for apps, but once you have lollipop you notice the changes to the apps much more IMO and it really does flow.

Thankfully a few changes can be reverted with a toggle switch in an app, but the new lock screen is annoying if you have a pin or pattern code.

Good news is if you've encrypted your device, you can use a pattern or face unlock instead of a pin code

*******s. I factory reset to get rid of the encryption because it was annoying me, sounds like I should have just OTAed and then changed back to pattern unlock! Maybe I'll re-encrypt it all again now :D

Cleared the cache tonight. Certainly seems snappier. Might just be a temp fix and won't deal with crashes.

Do you have just one profile?

Disabling now seems to cure a lot of issues on the 7 (2012)

Yup just one. Tried two profiles on 4.4 but it slowed everything down terribly. Tab gets used a lot by my 4 year old. I'm going to get a 10" win tab and just set the droid up for him.

Is there anyone else who still hasn't had the update for a 2012 N7?

I'm feeling left out! :S

I haven't yet, but have a feeling it's been pulled for this device

Don't. It's made my tablet virtually unusable. Already this morning I've typed an email with it being about a second behind what I typed, sent it three times because it wouldn't respond to a tap on the send button for ~30 seconds, and then tried to log into a guest session to see if that was any more responsive and ended up turning the tablet off after looking at a totally blank blue screen for about 5-6 minutes.

Seriously considering flashing this backwards just to make it usable, 4.4.4 wasn't much better so might have to go for an even older build until I find one that doesn't run like crap and then perhaps let my daughter have it for Christmas.

Gac,

Enable developer mode and restrict to 2 processes

Open the G app and disable the Now app under the settings.

Reboot and you should be as good as kitkat without the need to format or downgrade

Interesting, I'll give that a go tonight, thanks :)
