Gauge wired up just waiting on the vac hose turning up.

Today's been one of those days

Fitted all new vac hose, plumbed in the boost gauge various ways and ended up with it in the actuator piping. It's not ideal and not greatly accurate but it'll do till I can figure where to put a tap in the inlet manifold.

Also had to start a re-work the gauge mount as it fouled slightly behind the dash.

After a bit of searching regards the boost gauge take off it was decided that the intercooler was an ideal place as the actuator wasn't really ideal and the readings weren't that accurate tbh.

So nipped to ARF this morning and this happened and it's 100% better...

Plan was for this box to go in the vrs but her indoors has put a stop to that as she wants to get rid of it soon. It will now be replacing what's in the truck ;)

It was in need of some tlc so yesterday saw the start of things.

Needed a 2nd baffle but once the port surround was removed it took a bit of the baffle with it. 2 new baffles required. Also tidied up the insides while I was at it.

Port surround fillered and waiting to be smoothed

Started on the port and the jigsaw blade decided it prefered being in 2 pieces so halted play :(

No updated this for a while.

Went for its mot at the end of august and got a few advisories on some rust holes, got home and had a poke about and found a lot of tin worm. Rather than scrap it and start again and risk picking another one up with issues I've decided to strip it and fix it.

2 new wings (fibreglass)

Rot is imenent in both front inner wings, both front floor pans, rear inner and outer arches and the sills.

Box section sliders will replace the sills and I've purchased all the welding gear to get it done.

Also fitting a snorkeL and catch can while I'm at it.

I'm still following the story (see my  http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/332668-sis-maverick-4x4-more-bass/?p=4031032 ) .  With a degree of sorrow nowadays, seeing the obvious and inevitable signs of age.  My Terrano would have been an 18-year-old now and in much the same state.  I looked her up on the DVLA site - just out of interest - and see that her tax ran out in April 2009, her MoT in September 2009; the end of the line, I suppose :'(

It'll be back and bassing again soon enough, fair bit of rot but I'm addressing that and updating the bits that are past it.

Bumper was shot so and excuse for a heavy duty winch one, wings are fibreglass so won't rot again either.

Not quite finished but the vrs has decided it wants to play silly buggers and act up forcing me to rush and get this on the road. Still the cills to do and most of the interior to put back in when they are done, but for the first time in 5 months ish it's seen the road :)
